That looks like a great instrument. Makes you want to pick it up and play it! Love'd the rampant mustang on the neck plate! Is that a decal?
Thanks FrankenWashie and fender3x. Very happy with it - I will give a review soon.
@fender3x - yes, the mustang on the neck plate is a vinyl sticker.
Racing strips, blurred logo, mustang on the neck plate, hot rod color. Looks like you've invented the pony-tar!*
*This should make sense to a US audience as a portmanteau...but not sure how well it travels...
So it does travel ;-) Takes the name from the early Mustangs, but we still use if for small-ish muscle cars with a long hood, a short trunk and a back seat only suitable for a box lunch. Cameros, Firebirds, Chargers... Seems appropriate for a short scale bass painted like yours... Attachment 45957
Yeah, although there is some flexibility in the term I think. Most people would include all the early Mustangs, even the ones with an in-line 6. Most people would still include the current 5.0 liters. Maybe not all the ones in between. I don't know if you got the Mustang II in Australia but maybe not that one...yuck! But for sure a Mustang with a 289 V8 is the one that kicked it all off.
Not sure if people will use "pony car" for the electrics, but I wouldn't rule it out. They can go from 0-100kph in under 4 seconds
