Thanks guys! Simon, I just don't know how I would have made it through that without your wit. Lol.
Back on track here.

The secret of why the nut doesn’t sit right. Why can’t they just put the placement pin a little bit further south?
I had those on my GSM-1and GSJ-1. As Fretworn says, It’s a pin used to keep the fretboard in place when it’s being glued and clamped. It’s not rocket science to put them where they don’t interfere with the nut. Just simple carelessness.
You can grind it away with a suitable Dremel bit, or you can mark the position on the nut and make a small cut-out for it so the nut sits level.
In theory you could use a small file to level it, but you are far more likely to make the slot floor uneven instead.
Badoom-tish!
Absolutely beautiful work Andy!! How long before it will be hard enough to polish do you think?
You guys are hilarious.
Thanks for figuring out the mystery for me.
@ Rodc - good question. I haven;t finished the final polishing yet as I wanted it strung up and played to check out a few kinks. Good news is that is mostly done now and she sings beautifully. Hoping I might have time this weekend to finish it all off and put up the glamour shots.
