Has he got several of that type? I've found photos of him playing one on stage but it seem to be a non-sunburst brown and with quite a heavy flame on the maple top.
Trey Anastasio (the Phish guitarist) has about 5 of them, but this is one that the bassist owns. Mike Gordon also has a couple of Languedoc 5string basses.
It's interesting. I don't know what make it is but the body looks quite Ibanez-like. And that style of three-screw pickup mounting is an older Ibanez and Yamaha design feature, also featured on the Fender wide-range pickups, some Gretsch pickups but little else. (Yes, Tele bridge pickups also have three screws but in a different arrangement). It's a great pickup mounting system and far superior to the standard 2-hole method for being able to keep the pickup secure and parallel to the strings.
Ah - A Langeuedoc G2 - hence the title [facepalm].
US$10k new, but built to your own specs.
I can't help it, this is right up my alley.
That would be a struggle to play sitting down for someone as short as my 172cm....standing up wouldn't be much better either.
Doubled up five string is a first one I have seen. Looks like a Bass that Davey guy on Youtube would play.
Alpher instruments have come out with this bit of lusciousness. Honestly, my facebook page is a bass player's porn stash...
