Thanks VH. It was a bit firmer wax then I expected. I had to buff a fair bit. But it's come up good

Told ya it would take some elbow grease :p
Its the Carnuba wax that makes it nice and hard and it will continue to buff as you play the Guitar.
Well worth the effort Shazz, looks great

So that means the buffing is never really finished... it'll look better as it ages!
Looking great, already, though! You must be stoked with the results!
Video is loading now!! Sorry for the lateness, I know you've all been waiting :p
Here it is!!

Looks fantastic, Shazz! Adding the hardware will set it off and bring it to life. I'm looking for excuses to build more guitars in the future, and I like the look of the GR-1SF.
Looking great Shazz. Cant wait to see it all assembled!
cheers,
Gav.
Thanks Swanny! I don't know how many times I've done a dry fit now with all hardware in place just to see what she will look like!
I hope she sounds as wonderful as she looks (if I do say so myself)
I have more plans to build also haha 1 is just not enough!
I think I have decided on a LP for my next1!!
looking nice and red Shaz, when will you glue the neck ?
ah ok no worries Shazz I forgot these bodies are wide enough to get your hand inside, only semi hollow body I've built is an ES-1G and you would barely get a baby's hand inside the neck pocket
Wowsers Shazz, looking purty :)
Shazz that build is looking awesome, and I just wanted to say thanks heaps for the vids and pics. I am using DT for the first time and I found your vids to be really helpful.
So I'm going to be wax potting my pickups. After my husbands issues with his guitar I'm taking as many measures as possible to insulate and 'sound proof' my guitar.
Has anyone else done this? I've youtubed taught myself haha I will film it so you all can see how I do it :)
I haven't even heard of this until a few days ago! I used braided wire on my ES-12G, but also used GFS pickups, instead of the ones supplied in the kit. I don't get any hum/noise except when I hit the strings.
But, it would be fun to try a new skill! How many people can say, "Hey, I just wax potted my pickups!"
Shazz. New forum member TonyW seems to know a fair bit about wax potting pickups. Send him a PM. He also winds his own pickups
Great work Shazz, that red is awesome, nice job
So with all the festivities and family gatherings I have not had a chance to do my wiring. So it will be a little longer till the beast is up and strumming!! I don't have an ETOC hopefully not too far away!!
Hey Shazz, I think everyone is in the same boat !
Sure you will get around to the wiring soon.
Sometimes you just have to kick the rellies out and tell them the axe can't wait any longer hahah
Haha I wish I could tell them to get out but I live with some of them :p
My husband and I move into our house in March so I'm sure lots of building will happen then!! (Still hoping for earlier)
good stuff Shazz, hope the new house has a nice woman cave somewhere to build a workbench and some tool space !
So i'm only just getting around to doing the wax potting video!! Have been super busy going back to work!
Wax potting video - done!! Enjoy guys. I don't hold any responsibility if you try this!!

cool video Shazz, I've never seen it done but it's a simple procedure. Hope it stops the feedback, sure it will help anyway
