Haha, yea Wok, you're a bit behind mate, and guys, I'm not stopping my pesting for a long time!!
yer sure your Pest levels will only increase with time Pest
DB looks like the next forum member to crack the grand of posts - 91 to go
so I'm still not convinced Freo will beat the Roos are on a roll !
On a roll of not being able to get over the line... Roos are serial offenders this year of throwing away winnable games.
Freo will flog them.
Yeah, im seriously doubting that we can win..... even thought I tipped us to win....
Hey guys, I applied the highlights on Wednesday night, and they are pretty damn cool!!! The first top coat on the top of the body was applied last night, that's looking good, pic of that will be up tomorrow!!! I'm going to apply the first top coat to the back and sides tonight, the top will have cured by then, so that's going on tomorrow!

The only tools I need now are:
Coping saw: $20
Clamp: $20
Soldering Iron: $20
Soldering Iron Holder: $10
Total: $70
Not much more to go until I'm finished!!!!! I'm planning on finishing the kit around July 20
Is that July 20 as in July 20, 2013 or July 2020? :p
Um....... July 20, 2043!!!
Nah, I'm planning on finishing on July 20, 2013 :P :D
Oooh a go faster stripe on the back!!! Go Pest!
Haha Brendan, that's gold mate!!!!
Ok, quick update!
I have applied the first top coat to the whole body, and the second coat to the top and sides. I will finish the second coat tonight!
I have also prepared the wiring for when the time comes, all of the wires have been tinned, the switch has been wired up, so the wires need to be connected on the controls, and the ground wires on the pots have been wired!!!
Pest pity the Kangaroos were outclassed by Freo yesterday, I've been waiting to stir you up bro !
haha shut up Wok, we were never going to even have a chance anyway!!!
I thought based on Roos form they had a chance, Harvey was trying every dirty tac tic in the book, don't worry he got plenty of boo's from the crowd !
haha true, our finals hopes are loooooooong gone.... at least we have GWS this week!!!!!
Ok, so in my woordwork classs, I have finished my build, so I brought in the neck and went straight for the scroll saw, and I messed up.... So i went for the round file, and made a bit of a Gibson-style shape instead, which worked!!! Pics up soon guys!!
Pest, you should have shaped the headstock before a drop of wudtone got applied !
Look forward to the pics, you should have practiced on the scroll saw with a scrap piece of wood and follow the same pattern line you plan for your headstock
Yea, i should have done that... But at least I cut it!!! It isnt perfect (of course)!!!
I even pulled out the teacher's pyrography pen and burned a logo into it!!! I'll finish it off with a soldering iron tonight!
Here's the pattern I went for!!! I'll apply the colour coat tonight!!! I might sand the Les Paul part off though, it doesn't really look that great... If I do I'll replace it with the black decal!!!

shape looks pretty good Pest, did you have to sand off the wudtone to do the pyography pen work ?
Hope you got enough wudtone to recoat the headstock at least twice after a sand !
Yea, i briefly attacked it with the disk sander!!!! Even my woodwork teacher said it looked really good!!
I'm very happy with the results from my build so far!!!
so you used an orbital sander to remove the wudtone ? looks like you used a pretty harsh sandpaper so you will have to sand it down to at least 240 grit before applying wudtone
Yeah, the paper was harsh, when I was doing the quicker passes, i accidentally hit the top screw for the truss rod cover, sparks flew, but nothing broke!! I'll sand it down tonight
crikey Pest you used an orbital sander with the truss rod cover on, you should have removed all the hardware !
And I wouldn't use an orbital paper lower than 120 grit !
Looks like you got a fair bit of sanding to do tonight !
And I'd remove the Les Paul writing, sand that off bro !
Yea, looks like I'm going to implement DB's rule again!!! I didnt have enough time ot remove the TRC here at home this morning before I got in the car with my guitar and amp to play Seven Nation Army in front of 300 people....
well its a lesson next time you could have removed the truss rod cover before you got the sander out - 45 second job - 3 small phillips head screws !
How did the jam go in front of 300 people is a good crowd, did anyone record the song on video ?
good luck with the sanding, you will have sanders elbow again ! When your arm gets sore give it to your old man to sand ! haha
hahaha, yer, the crowd was great!!!! It was outside, which was great, the Epi was AWESOME in a Marshall AND Fender amp system!!!
cool, so they must have provided the amps, bit of a change from your 10W amp hey
Hope you had the epi low enough so your knuckles hit the ground ! haha
it was as low is it could go, LIKE ALWAYS!!! I get my playing style from my musical idol, Billie Joe Armstrong :P, but that means the strap likes to fall off a lot, which means I gotta get some strap locks!
http://pitbullguitars.com/wp-content...a-images-1.jpg
haha yer Billie Joe likes a low axe.
Good luck with your sanding and promise me next time you use an electrical tool on any part of the axe remove all the hardware bro !
haha yer, ok, ill remove the hardware next time i do something like that lol
hey guys, I was trying to prepare the wiring harness for when the LP when one of the caps broke, the leg came off!!! Looks like I need another cap!
bugger Pest, just finish the rest of the wiring, you can always add the capacitor later. You are still a few weeks off finishing the top gloss coats anyway aren't you ?
Yea, im a few weeks away from the wiring
Dont panic Pestybitz.
I will post a new cap off to you.
Cheers DB, greatly appreciated!!!
Sorry to say this, but you might want to send me some more non-ageing, xgloss top coat :P
Did you drink it or something?
HAhaha I think I did.... :P :D
Crikey Pest you must have applied the top gloss like HHH. Heavy handed Harry! I'd get two axes out of a bottle of top gloss
