Great bargain and even better being in AUD.
Bit concerned they didn't have measurements as the fore & aft travel looks pretty slim and if replacing an existing F style bridge there may be evidence showing of the retro fit?

I'll let you know.
Hi buddy,
Here is a link to the build thread... http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...313#post133313

Moving at glacial speed on this build....
I got a bone nut cut and shaped from a blank today.

final shaping after strings are added.
I am hoping to cut the headstock this weekend too :)
I agree I would change the pickups over the bridge. Are you planning to leave it passive or are you going to make it active. There are some relatively cheap active preamps on eBay and that IMO will give you the most options around tones and overall sound. I just got a PBH-4 kit to start and I am putting in a 18v preamp kit with a toggle to allow passive or active. Can't wait to see your work on this one Andy
What headstock shape do you have in mind Andy?
Funny you should mention the pups! I'm going to wind my own! (Eventually)

I'm toying with the fender style headstock shape at the moment kick
Hi Andy, are they Toneriders or the stock kit PUP's? The lack of typical tonerider packaging makes me think stock kit ones which sound ok, just lacking a little bit in output volume.
Cheers, Waz
They are obviously 'wind-your-own' kit pups. The stock ones don't have Alnico V magnets for a start, and you can see the pole pieces in the bag. I'd imagine the empty bobbins are hiding inside the pickup covers. Andy just needs the wire and a winding machine and away he goes.
Simon is right Waz.
Its an Alnico 5 kit from stewmac. I am 90% complete on building my pickup winder and my wire spools have arrived from the UK!
The good news is they are exactly the same size as the chinese pups, so no routing is required.
