Not big on block markers, would prefer small dots, or nothing at all. Just side markers, like a Fretless but it's not a biggie really....

This is what I like....
Now there's a thought.....you could always order the JB5 Fretless neck with a maple board as a special order from PBG perhaps? They do a 4 stringer for $69 and a full kit for a fiver, just need to see if you can grab a neck destined for a fiver's kit?
Gee they are nice looking basses.
You could always replace the markers for something lighter and have a more subtle look...
The extra neck option has crossed my mind but I already have a nice 4string one of those, the IB6 has caught my eye of late..... Lets just play the ones we have for a while.....
I do, however have a 4 string fretless Tom Anderson JB Neck that spent some time on my Fender, back in the day, a friend fretted it and put it onto an acoustic body for a specific gig. Didn't really want it fretted but didn't communicate that to him well enough it seemed. The scale is wrong to put it back on a bass.... Unless I de fret it... :) anyone got a lazy Bass body they don't want????
Guys, seriously, this thing looks so much better than in the photos. It is also lighter than I expected after hearing talk of Elm Bodies being heavy...its no lightweight but its no more a back breaker than most. I'm loving it, if I can unplug it long enough I'll drop the action and then play it some more... I need the practice anyway.....

First upgrade for my JBB-5 SB.
CTS Pots, Orange Drop Cap and PB treble bleeds on both Volume Pots, all on a Black Control Plate.
Tails attached so I can use a terminal block if any future changes are required.
All soldered together at work (the light is better) with only about forty interruptions......
I hate it when work gets in the way of your Personal Life.....especially during working Hours.....
Hi buddy, will be interested to see if your treble bleed mods work properly and whether you can pick any tonal difference.
Cheers, Waz
Will let you know Waz. I actually use the Volume a bit, with the Neck backed off a touch to give a Growly tone dominated by the Bridge but with more Bottom End, So I'm looking forward to seeing how it all goes together.
If it doesn't work, I'm not all that fussed, I'll pull them back out and save them for later.....
Edit..... Decided against the Treble Bleed Mods and removed them prior to fitting, which will happen upon arrival of a couple of Quarter Pounders..... and we are not talking Hamburgers here.......
