no worries Toshi, when you add more grits the sanding process will go smoother and you gradually remove smaller machine marks as you go. There is no short cut in sanding as you have experienced !

Yeh, Wok! its really worthy to take time. looking forward to seeing nicer surface after done :D
good attitude Toshi, you just have to relay to the wife if you rush the build you won't be happy with it !
Hahaha, true, Wok. I would manage this matter so that i could take a plenty of time to work on my bass project.
i have been working on neck these days.
sanded out head stock and neck itself with 120-180-240-320 grit.

After that, have started dealing with fret board before going to lacquer finish, decal on head stock and neck backside.
I prefer rounded edge a bit on fret board and headstock.

good work Toshi, I am going to vote you for SOTY - sander of the year hahahhaha
at least you will have arms like Popeye after all this sanding !
Wok, Thank you! hahaha, hope will win SOTY and get muscular arm :)
that's it Toshi, you must be close to starting the staining soon, what type and colour stain are you using ?
Nice work rolling those fretboard edges. Looking great!
Hi Wok, I have Keda dye powder kit. i tested on small veneer as below.
it was bit too light, but thinking go for purple with stronger tone, hoping to make gloss finish at last. but as for primer, i tried to buy a clear primer spray from japan, but not successful. so I am thinking to use several coats of water-base clear varnish alternatively before finishing with clear lacquer spray. But i dont know if it works well...

Thanks, Simon! now i have powerful tools, cabinet scraper&spoke shave, they help a lot :) by the way, when i round the fret edge, i made bit scratches on fret board by diamond file. but i feel better just leaving it as it is than sanding down till it disappear...
