Colour is looking killer man.
cheers,
Gav.
Been a while between posts but just a quick update. Have a decal company coming up with a design for my headstock, so waiting to get the mock up done to approve for my decal.
Probably about time for the final coat, but want to take some steel wool to it beforehand as it feels a bit gritty. I've got some 0000 to use. Any tips for this?
Hey DB, sounds good, just give the whole body a light rub over with the 0000 super fine steel wool. Rub your fingers over the body to make sure the gritty spots are gone. Then give it a good dust off with a clean brush or cloth, then rub a water damp rag over the body, let it dry for least half hour then rag on your final coat.
Good luck !
How'd you go DB? You get the waterslide decal on? polishing yet?
I've hit a wall, probably more due to the annoyance in dealing with idiots at a decal company, that supposedly told me that the design for my headstock was too small for a waterslide. Luckily they sent me the proofs, so I can buy some decal paper myself, and print them off the computer.
It doesn't help working in Before and After school care, and been working 7am-6pm shifts mostly everyday due to NSW School holidays.
Hopefully can get working on it this week, starting off with cleaning the binding, and give it a bit of a steel wool.
Fair nuff mate, printing them off is what i do to. I think i bought a number of sheets for like $20 from somewhere. cleaning the binding will be a satisfying task.
I've gravitated away from using steel wool on Dingotone. I wet sand with 1200 grit and 2000 grit to even it out.
That colour looks absolutely fantastic!
Don't know why a decal company would say something was "too small" to be a waterslide. I've seen custom printed stuff at less than 1x1mm.
Yeah, they seemed a bit stupid.
Jokes on them, cause they emailed me the proofs of the logo, so I can print my own.
