Decided on neck same colour as the body so applied 4x passes of colortone. Also had a play with Kluson tuners to get a feel of the look. Once I'm happy with the neck dye time for some TO to finish off. Body busy curing, I'm now done with this apart from a cut and polish up.
Wow Andrew, the traditonal style tuners will finish this beast off nicely. I really love how it has come together. I think we'll see a run of these in 2015 based on your stellar effort! I'm certainly with Max - I've been coveting a flame SG for a while now, but you'e pushed my GAS into critical again! Love this axe man - awesome job.
cheers,
Gav.
those Kluson tuners look the goods Andrew, and loving the neck colour ! Keep up the good work
Cheers Guys. Gav, I reckon a nice SG hanging on your wall of fame would alleviate your GAS symptoms for a bit ☺
Some more progress.. Please excuse upside down pictures I'm doing this from my phone..
Neck finish complete with 4x thin TO coats super fine steel woolled between each application.

Time to level frets.. the neck was completely straight no truss rod adjustment required.
Taped up the fretboard and levelled frets with my long spirit level with sandpaper double sided sticky tape attached along the bottom edge. Only one troublesome fret #15 that was quite low and took a bit of work to bring it's neighbours down to its level. Next job recrowning, then glue on neck and shielding.

The front of neck headstock still needs to be finished off. I have since acquired an Epiphone truss rod cover and now looking for a reliable source for decal (white vynl is planned).
Any suggestions of supplier welcome!
That wraps up tonight's session.
Andrew, you can't go wrong with Andy (AndyPort) from the forum. His email address is citysigns AT internode.on.net
cheers,
Gav.
She's looking really great Andrew! (I can feel another drool-attack coming on! :D)
Love this! I too had been looking at these kits, an SG is one shape I've always liked but never owned.
neck is looking sweet Andrew, can't wait to see it glued to the body in 1 piece.
So this should be ready for February GOTM by the sound of progress.
