Gotta wonder if they sound as good as they look?
Probably cost a Motza and therefore would end being show pieces which I could live with if I had enough spare coin to own one.
A lot of these guitars look great in small amounts but most are far too busy for my own tastes - Zandit's recent pictures of the very elaborate guitar construction just has too much ornamentation for me. I would happily live with one or two of the elaborate features, but not with everything being very OTT. The Kinnaird guitar is probably as about as elaborate as I'd go, as it's showing natural materials off to their best effect, without adding too much extra fancy work.
Some of his guitars have such a beautiful and haunting sound. The new owners certainly get their money's worth!
Speaking of money, they don't mention pricing on the forum, but some that are advertised in the market place are easily in the $10-20k mark. Some even more!
Definitely agree with you there Simon, some are very over the top. The craftmanship shown by each of these builders is phenomenal but each have their own specialties and tastes. Some of these are also built to a specific customers request, even over the builders objections.
The customer is always right, especially if they are paying extra!
for a < $1000 guitar this thing is beautiful... getting a Gretsch sized itch now
