Hey wokka. I did an extra couple of coats, hasn't changed too much but I think the blend is slightly better.
Hopefully can hit it with the clear fairly soon so I can get the schematic done!

Yummy!! Does the headstock match the body?
looks great Shaz, looks better with the clear coats. What are you using wipe on poly ?
Wonderful stuff Shazz, that burst has really come up beautifully and the mix of colours and the way it plays into the flame. Superb!
Thanks corsair! I tried to match the headstock but it didn't blend as well, but I think with the tuners in place it won't be as bad Attachment 21700Attachment 21701
Thanks wokka! I'm seriously stoked with how much better it looks once clear is applied! I'm using this spray clear, I'm loving it! Attachment 21702
Thanks Franken! It looks better then I expected with the clear applied! This is the back so far! Attachment 21703
my Vee was almost pink till the clear hit it, amazing what a change it brings.
I'd try and raise the body slightly off the cardboard when spraying. Its all too easy to spray slightly under the edge so that you get a line of clear where the body and the cardboard meet, which you then have to sand down. Not really an issue if you are only spraying the top or bottom, but if you are also doing the edges at the same time, then I would raise the body up slightly.
Obviously use something soft that won't mark or adhere to the finish. When doing the back, you can place supports in the neck pocket and pickup routs, but you can't use that method when doing the front. So maybe just a smaller bit of cardboard under the body is easiest.
So it's been quite a while! Just laid the final layer of finish! Setting of the neck next, then to hopefully have no electrical gremlins this time round! I'm hoping to finish before Christmas haha
Good to see you making some progress Shazz.
Finally set the neck! Just waiting for her to dry, then bring on the soldering marathon!
She’s coming up real nice! Been pretty slack with the videos this time round... I have them, just haven’t edited them! Here’s how she’s looking right now! Loving here more and more! Attachment 22990Attachment 22991Attachment 22992Attachment 22993
Very 1970's colour scheme.
From memory that shade of purple was the 'in' colour about 1975 as I had a pair of black and purple shoes to wear at my eldest sister's wedding that would have been a perfect match.
That looks real pretty Shaz.... not so sure about Waz's shoes though.....
Boy, that's gonna be mega, eh!!
That finish is awesome.
I am a Deep Purple fan and this one is part of it ;)
Love the colour Shaz!
We'll have the 2x purple SGs finished soon. Mine has been waiting for a final setup for some time now but I love the SG shape!
