Knobs and scratch plate. I've used a premade harness for this. All fits well. The control plate is genuine Flender and fits kit perfectly. More to follow just need to sort out centreline and bridge placement.
By end of this evening I should be ready to spray the body.

Looks great Ponch. Can you please post a link where you got the wiring harness? I might look at one too. Make sure you grain fill before the primer coats!
Here's the link Woks, also solderless. I used one for my worn out 20yr old PBass and was converted...

Slower progress this evening after a couple of crazy hail storms...
I found a set of lino carving tools in a local craft shop (cost about 10 bucks), two of which are curved. Bridge pup route now modified accordingly...
The tool

Geez, I wish I had spotted them a few months ago.
Top job Ponch.
Thanks Waz. Yes these will come in very handy and work well on basswood. Just came across these by chance and last in stock in this particular shop. I'm sure fleabay would be a good source

Amazing all the 'One-Off' tools we acquire doing these builds that end up becoming very handy for many other jobs too.
Very clever idea! Love it when you can draw from other areas for help. Years ago when I was right into flyfishing I used to tie my own flies and some of the best tools came from a dentist's kitbag rather than a traditional fishing shop!
I seem to have acquired a lot of tools I thought would be useful for guitar building that I've never ended up using. Yet.
But now I need yet another tool box and I'm running out of space. Plus they take up guitar storage space!
Man Cave Extension.....
After all, you have the tools to do it......
Unfortunately I live in the over-populated south of England. House plot sizes get smaller all the time. I couldn't actually fit my car in my garage without taking the wing mirrors off and then being unable to open the doors. UK garages still all seem to be designed to accommodate an original Austin Mini instead of large modern cars (I have a Jag XF), so instead generally become the home for freezers and tumble dryers etc.
Wow. That sux, I don't know weather I could handle the closeness. I have too much space, my main shed is so huge it could easily fit 6 Jags, yet it is so full of junk I can't fit one car in it. There is a 4 bay machinery shed running the length of one side of it, in which my wife keeps show chickens and pidgeons. There is another small shed my wife keeps saddles and bridles and stuff in, and my Motorbike Shed which is barely big enough to work on my bike, as well as a shed for the lawnmower and garden stuff...
Every one of them is full of junk that we can't throw away.....
If you can make your way from one side of the shed to the other without smashing your knee, elbow and head at least once each on an unidentified bit of metal then you're not using your shed properly!
I am obviously using my shed properly....
Duly noted, I have a shockingly underutilised man cave, there's clear floor and workspace enough to swing at least three cats (They spit and scratched mercilessly while I did so, and still aren't talking to me) I shall have to order some machine tools, and some timber, tools, paint cans, woodworking/guitar magazines and dead appliances to stack on them (Which i believe is the primary purpose of wood working machine tools, Isn't it?).
I shall have to take a leaf out of the better half's book, her sewing room is teetering piles of fabric in various states of being sewn together or picked apart all mixed in with cutting patterns, craft paper, spools of thread, hanks of yarn and the occasional badly swung cat.
Only to be found when looking for something else that has also been lost.
I reckon there are many of us who can relate to this dilemma.
ahha yeah Ponch I can relate to losing smaller parts in the workshop. Bone nuts I generally leave in a zip lock plastic bag make them harder to lose. I got my bone nut from DB on Sunday. The area under my workbench we call the abyss because you could probably build a working guitar from the lost parts under there haha
what Ponch you found a neck behind your workbench haha that's classic !
@ Zandit I got enough current projects thanks but will keep it in mind !
wow thats funny Ponch you misplaced a neck. Last time I looked under my workbench there were no necks or bodies ! just a heap of dust/wood chips and probably a few screws that rolled off !
Just too wet and humid to paint so pulled up stumps on the body. I've marked out where the bridge should go and levelled/filed the frets. I'll polish them just before final assembly. There were heaps of uneven frets so this should help with playability
The body is still in prep mode so looks a bit patchy
