I just found this and posted it on another diary. I'd say it could come down just a bit lower.

awesome. thanks again Simon, i will adjust it a little more and get it spot on. thanks again 😊
ok so the black nickel locking tuners arrived. hard to see in the photos but they are like black chrome. im very happy how it has turned out. hope you guys like.
How was stringing it up with the tuners on that angle? You wouldn't really be able to use a string winder, and a would think that they might get in the way of each other when tuning in that sort of "step" set-up.
Wow, crazy headstock! I like it!
I guess the advantage with the locking tuners is that you don't need as many turns so it wouldn't be too much of task without a winder.
hey Fretworn, i honestly had no choice. the holes that where cut out were not cut out evenly (A string tuner hole too close to d string hole) and the tuners didnt fit in a line like my other guitar. this was the only option and yeah i was lucky as they are locking tuners you dont need a string winder.
That headstock looks great! I quite like the tuner orientation; I’d seen it before on a crimson custom guitar and had kept in in the back of my mind for a future build. I figure even if it’s a bit of a hassle to wind, it’s worth it for the aesthetic appeal
ok i have changed the neck to a maple neck and im really like the new look. hope you guys like also. i have shown below a before and after neck change.
its a 22 fret standard strat neck but i modified it to fit a floyd rose nut. it turned out really well and plays beautifully the neck is a larger radius so its flatter than the original which i like for this guitar and its very smooth. so yeah very happy with outcome.
New neck looks great - I like the black/maple combo
