That is an awesome colour combo
beautiful ESB-4 Andy, love the colour and finish.
@ Klegacy I can appreciate what work you have put into your build. As DB has suggested I will be scoring your entry on all the other aspects of the build. And I won't be deducting points.
IB-5. First attempt at a build. Oak stain with Satin poly finish. Sheared a few screw heads on cover plate, which was annoying.

looks great Mally, I love my IB-5 I converted to fretless
Great looking build Jmax! I'm yet to start my own (and first) guitar build and I like your timber finish very much. Am I correct in understanding that you have only sanded the surface of the guitar and applied try oil? Nice work!
Thanks! Yes - the approach I took was to do a lot of sanding to get the wood nice and smooth, and then four coats of Tru Oil. I wanted the grain to show, and to allow the body to breath to really get the hollow body resonance. Originally, I only did three coats of Tru Oil on the neck because the maple is so dense, but I recent added a fourth. I think I'll be adding a fifth coat to the body the next time I replace the strings. It's been amazing to experience the process of this guitar "settling in" over a couple months after I finished the build.
