Nice one Oli. Is this stained with FW mahogany? I used same stain on a previous LP Jnr build and it came up real nice with Tru Oil finish. Not Manly colours at all lol

Hi Andrew. Yes FW MAHOGANY
I've put on two more coats now.
Tomorrow I'm going to mix some FW Japan black in.
Will post more after it dries. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...88fca3a9c7.jpg

Looks awsome oli
Sanded it down a little with 320 and mixed in the FW Japan black.
I'm quite happy with this colour. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...54d81a2a49.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...564466e1ae.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7731bb1722.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c70d4ad43c.jpg

Oh man.
After getting the colour right on te back I peeled off the sticky tape and what was protecting the front of the guitar only to find that there was a bad fold in the tape and some colour had bled onto the top.
Major bummer. It was about 5mm round.
I attacked it with Goof Off but no joy there.
So ..... refusing to be beaten I covered the whole top with a light coat of Japan black.
Figuring that it will look nice once all oiled up and shiny.
If this fails I will end up "saving" it with black rattle cans[emoji1][emoji1]
Here is what it looks like now.

I went crazy with the Goof Off on the veneer but there are still glue marks (smears)
Noticeably at the bottom of the face and along the seam down the centre of the guitar face.
Help please......
Q. Any ideas how to get rid of that guys??

Small scalpel or similar sharp device used along glue line to make a slight indentation to allow you to back fill with timber mate that has been diluted down in the same stain colour. Needs to be very, very thinly applied so that there isn't much sanding required once dry.
Binding blues. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8320a24d6c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1e39a4ae0c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d8f3d55d3a.jpg
These fine cracks have shown up after getting stain on the binding.
Oh well......... a vintage / aged look perhaps??[emoji53]
Anyway the rest of the guitar is shaping up well.
Some fine sanding before the final coats of Tung oil and FW buffing finish.
