Nah, just a bit of wet timbermate. It was all sanded down to 320 before it went on, so nothing untoward.

Ok, good to hear ;)
Ahh yes, Erina Jaycar - we are intimately acquainted! The wiring harness looks nice and clean Rossco. Great job!

If its not a complete disaster, after to follow later today.
Its amazing how adding some colour shows up imperfections. quite a few little holes/gaps in the veneer that I hadn't noticed, and some glue that I thought I had gotten rid of with a combination of goo off and 400 grit. Was a bit worried about going through, but obviously should have gone a little bit harder. Oh well no guitar of the month for me this time, maybe the tele I do next, or the 335 after that or the.......:-)

I thinks it is awesome!
Thanks for that. With the weather here won't be going near it with the intensifier coat till next weekend. So see what it looks like after that
Man that spalt is KILLER!
Great looking spalted top!
Imperfections in the woods are just part of dealing with a spalted finish. Mine was uneven and even now you can feel the ripples in the top. It all adds to the character.
I hope you pressed 'save' before you started staining. Then all you have to do is reload and work on those glue patches and it will all be fine. ;)
