Oh well, I'll give it a try first and see what happens. If it fails, then I can always sand it all off. It's all part of the learning process anyway.
Ain't experimenting fun!

I would recommend you grain fill the pine before the primer coat. That's if any sanding shortcuts don't work out
Cheers mate. Didn't think of that.
It's a pain but I would sand back to the wood...

Or apply a thin layer of plastibond all over as both a filler and sealer and then hit it with primer & undercoat. Being a softwood plastibond would add a small amount of protection.
Git the Belt Sander out....... :D
Ok...So it's been awhile, what with the weather, work, etc, etc.
So here is the latest....
I took my daughter to 'The warehouse that shall not be named' and she chose the colour for Hannah. Was a bit surprised by her choice but she really nailed it. Rustoleum Paint and Primer - Ocean Mist Green. Saved me from doing too much sanding back too!
I did some slight reshaping and sanding, sprayed, sand,spray,sand,spray,sand...You know the drill!...then 3 coats of clear gloss.
Replaced the pickups with Pitbull stock pups I had lying around. I just waiting for things to settle in and cure then I'll do some minor fret work, polish and new strings.
My daughter has already seen it and said "It's so LOUD, Dad!!". It's Rock 'n' Roll babe.
I used transfer paper for the logo. First attempt so I'll be a bit more careful next time.

came up excellent ILR, I had a look how it originally looked on the first post and it looks a million times better, well done
Thanks mate. Daughter is very happy too. It sounds killer. Not sure if I want to give it to her now!
Man ILR that turned out really nice. That color looks great and glad you didn't have to sand all the way back to bare. How did you make the logo sticke. I need to make one to put on my first build and have seen people use the water transfer paper, is that what you did?
