Man that blue looks nice.
Hey Guys, just finished flatting the top laquer now, used 2000 grit wet and dry, and then polished a couple of times - looks great, got a super smooth finish, really chuffed with it.
Just before a glue the neck in, bit nervous as there will be no going back, and never done it before, would appreciate any comments in case I've missed something really obvious ! !
Have cleaned the end of the neck that sits in the pocket, also cleaned to pocket sides so they are still fairly rough. Nothing is fixed yet so done a rough set up with the E and G string, which look to sit fairly central on the neck. Measured nut to 12th fret which is 432mm, measured 12th fret to bridge which is also 432mm, with still plenty of adjustment on the saddles, obviously I will have to check this all again once the neck is fixed and before I attach the bridge to the body. As far as I can see I should be good to go with the glueing, unless as I say I've missed something ! Any other advice re glueing will be gladly rec'd.
Cheers Alan
looks ready glue and clamp to me!
looks great mate, get the clamps out...
As a final check, clamp the neck and bridge in place and run a straight edge or string/fishing line as a rough check of the action just in case the neck angle needs tweaking before gluing.
Thanks Guys, off we go then with the glue !
Love the blue Alan, it will look great with the Chrome fittings.
Hi Guys, just looking at the wiring. Does it matter which pot is used for the bridge and neck pickups, and vol and tone. In the kit I have 2 posts marked B500k, and two marked A504.
Thanks
Hi Alan, use the 'A' pots for volume of neck and bridge and 'B' pots for tone for neck and bridge pups
Brilliant - thanks a lot
