Removing Bushings

If you don't like the idea hammering or clamping and pulling out the bushings and maybe damaging your finish then
you can try this method.

Everyone probably already knows this but found this awesome way to remove bushings so just had to share.

You'll need
A small bolt or screw that will fit upside down into the bushing
The bolts for the bushing. Or optionally if you don't want to ruin the look of your bridge's bolt you can get an
M8 threaded bolt (Check the threading for your one, might not be the same)

Drop the screw or small bolt in upside down

Attach your bolt

And screw in the bolt, which will push against your upside down screw and lift out the bushing

This color is just wild Devon! I like it!

+1 for this method. Works like a charm - had to use it on the Wasp build after I forgot to put in a ground wire.

Also, that purple is sweet as. Gonna look awesome all leveled out and cleared. What product did you use for the colour? :)

It's a metallic purple car paint. I think I got it from Autobarn... maybe Repco.
VHT Anodized color coat.

Learning a lot about wood and paint with this build.
I just checked the website, appears its supposed to go on chrome to get that shinny look.
Whoops, ok time to sand it back and do a chrome coat... but if my guitar is ever on fire it can withstand 228 degrees celcius of heat.

Nice work Devon! I'm no expert but you should still be able to get the shiny look with gloss clear coats and polishing. Lookin good!

A silver undercoat will get you where you need to be. Love that colour.

aaahhh, you've used a topcoat designed for a candy purple finish, hence the need for silver undercoat. (candy red goes over metallic gold usually...). It can give an uneven finish at times in terms of coverage.

If you like it, leave it, or silver under will give like a candy purple

That's it stan yeah! Is that what it's called? I want that Hot Rod sexy candy purple finish.

So I sanded the face and back right back to wood, then I realised WTF am I doing I should of just scuffed the top layer of paint. So I left the sides with the purple and re-primed the wood... again and rewet sanded.
Wet sanding is no longer my favourite thing in the world stan.

Previous paint jobs gave me a lot of trouble doing the edges, so I thought I'd tackle those first and lay the guitar flat

After, the chrome paint was pretty aggressive covered most of the face when I wasn't even trying. Was not happy with the non mirror look

Hung up the guitar on the magic coat hanger and finished the rest and got the face, Shiny... happy people!
*I'm not sure if I'm happy because of the mirror finish like look or chrome overspray and fumes everywhere. Even though I wore a mask.
