Holy Moley!
That is a really nice kit....
My choice would be a clear finish, let that grain sing! :)
I agree, that will look very damn good with Dingotone clear! Maybe even use a light coloured stain that is sanded back to pop the grain?
Talk about beautifully matched pieces! A great score nonetheless. Natural sounds like a great choice, or maybe a subtle amber? This is going to look seriously good no matter what you choose.
cheers,
Gav.
Well time to update the diary. Shaped the headstock and given a couple of coats of true oil, to see what the natural finish looked like, and think it may look alright with the Jarrah stain on the body. Still might change it to an Old Baltic colour. Undecided.
The body itself has had a few subtle alterations, mainly on the lower horn and a slight cut on the upper heal of the body to make the body less square. A slight arm cut is also planned for this area. Not traditional I know, but like the way it is shaped. Only sanded to 60 grit at the moment, sander died.

Good stuff mate. I like the angled body - reminds me of how ESP do their SG models.
Nice idea with the strat stock too - I love it when people mash fenders up!
looks awesome Jeff, well done, nice mash up of strat and tele as Nicko says.
Old baltic could work very well could be worth trying some in the area under the pickguard.
I'm sure the grain will pop whatever you do
Great mods, really clever. Loving the look of this.
Love the body shape Jeff! Interested to see how she looks with some colour.
cheers,
Gav.
nice work Jeff. Good to see something different
