Assembly time. Need to file a small amount off the pickguard where it goes around the bridge.

Nice. Love the grain on the body. The dog isn't very impressed though!
So you've decided to keep it?????
Looks great!
And those are your own wound pickups too, yes?
It's quite stunning. I still reckon if I was in Canberra I would have been tempted to take it off you.

All hardware now on. Time for a weigh in.

And for those of you who speak the historic language of pounds and ounces.

A couple of shots from today. I'll try to get some better ones tomorrow when there is a bit more light.

I just need to level and crown the frets then I can string it up.
Very nice work, looks great.
I'd have to fit some fretboard markers, not just side dots, if it was mine; but that's just my preference.
Under 3kg all fitted out is pretty good going?

It is. My GST-1's ash body weighs 2.5kg on its own, without neck or hardware.
Thanks Simon. Yeh I was on the fence about the fret markers for quite a while but decided that for this particular one I wanted as little as possible disrupting the Sheoak medullary rays.
Yep the only things left to go on are the strings and string trees. I knew from the beginning that this was going to be a light guitar because the Cedar was quite light even before I cut the body shape out. From a weight perspective it would make a really nice gigging guitar for someone, however the downside is that the timber is also a bit softer than I would like which means it would get knocked around a bit. Although to be fair my Gibson SG Faded is exactly the same, you basically just look at the body and it gets little dents.
That is a great looking guitar. Well done.
That's beautiful!
I know you said earlier that you won't play it much, but I hope it inspires you to pick it up more than just once in a while!
Hats off to you, Sir. Superb.
