Tell you what, I'm hoping the pickups will arrive this coming week, when it gets to the weekend, if they're here, I'll give you guys a little demo of the new guitar and the new amp.
I'm a touch impatient, I swear. I just want the shipment to finally arrive.
Haha, so you are also working on your muscle of patience ;) I know what it feels like....
You absolutely do. Not enough hours in the day to get your build rolling is there, Kick!
No pickups yet, sadly.
I'll do some more work on the intonation and the nut this weekend. After playing it a lot I'm not perfectly happy with how chords sound on the low end so I need to do a little bit for playability. Respect for all you guitar techs out there, getting this stuff right is hard work.
Very satisfying to play it though, it's got issues but it still feels great.
Did a fair bit of work on the playability side of things today. It now seems to sound a lot nicer on the low end, fixed the action at the nut on the two high strings and filed down the frets again.
Been learning a bunch about what makes the guitar have issues and how to fix them.
I'm also thinking about my nEXt build...
Ha ha. We are ALL thinking about our next build!
While I wait for the pickups, going to take it in to get the professional treatment, give it some TLC, get it playing and sounding perfect before I can finally make it scream through the Vox.
I'm a touch disappointed that it's not done yet. And I'm trying not to think of getting a pro-setup as 'admitting defeat'.
But I want this thing to be amazing and I can't keep buying parts to practice on, I'll go broke.
Bummer that you have to wait for so long...
It's fine. Gives me an excuse to love the other guitars I've got.
I fixed the buzz in my Flying V, the bridge pickup was getting silly, neck pickup was fine. I opened it up and checked all the electronics, guess some of the components were touching where they otherwise shouldn't have been.
Build #2 is on its way, will be coming in the mail in the next few weeks, first one was so good I'm going again.
My Dad's a keen Essendon fan, might don the red stripe on this explorer.
Kits are like pringles, can't stop at one ;)
Now I want pringles.
Pringle kit, problem solved:

Well, This is the concept 'sketch' of what I'm going to make 'for' my dad. He doesn't play, so it'll be mine, but if he ever wants to, it's his to use.
My mind changed really quickly from what I was planning to this. This looks great, and I'm hoping it'll work really well.
I'm going to go Bare Knuckle pickups for this one, thinking the Nailbombs, does anyone have experience with BKPs?
I'm bored waiting for my LP.
'Least this keeps my brain occupied.
Awesome man! Allthough your dad doesn't play, I'll think he will be very happy with this build :)
Who knows, maybe this will convince him to start!
Sick. I don't know what it is with these red and black builds lately, but I want to do one now!!
Do it. You make some amazing stuff, I would love to see it.
I agree with Cazaron :)
