mmm... me like.
texta? :P
:p :p
Looks like on old Kramer.
looks excellent Dedman,
how long will the switch take to arrive ? hope its not a month wait again !
who knows Wokka? he gave me a tracking number that doesn't work but insists its right
ok Dedman, well fingers crossed it arrives in a week or so, but as Daryl Kerrigan says on The Castle "tell him he is dreaming" hahha
well, time has marched on, I haven't even gotten a reply from the guy who sent the wrong switch other than to give me fake tracking number, now he just ignores my emails so.......... I spoke a amp/guitar tech that does all my mates mastering studios work and he said to just use a 500k switch, he knew the pick ups and said it will be unnoticeable, fortunately I have a couple here so, hopefully tomorrow I'll start wiring all going well.
And....it works. man does it work!. Gotta say the Armstrongs sound great. I may still split the coils although space is kinda minimal in the switch panel atm it has 7 postions, 6 on the swich and the push pull adds "all". It's on;y strung with the chinese strings atm, I'll let it settle for a week or so, then pull them off, do some touch ups and a final polish and put the Slinky's on.
I'll be honest and say I'm not happy with the finish I achieved, I think I should have been more patient trying to get the glue off the top.
I'll also admit I'm more of a Gibson guy and although I had planned to do a Strat it was further down the list. However, I did take my time on the neck and it's really nice to play with a low action and a semi smooth finish (TO unsanded on the last few coats). I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. :)

Excellent Deds, love the contrast with the natural neck.
Looks cool ded. Mine played great straight out the box too.

@Dedman: I second Andy, we want to hear that crazy double humbucker bridge pickup!
I'm not too much of a metal fan, but this pup must be very very hot!
will have to see if I can get a mate over with his camera, I have no way to record things.
I dont have a distortion pedal but some gain on the amp and the tiniest bit of overdrive and the speaker is flappin LOL
Great looking axe Dedman, another one for the collection
I was never really happy with this build, I loaned it to a mate after replacing the hardware and pick ups with the stock stuff,he decided to go buy a Squire after a few months and gave it back. Since then the bridge pick up had found a home in the DM-1S, the bridge itself and the tuners found their way onto my black strat and the neck ended up on the Jag/surf/master. So I had the body which is the bit I was never happy with. My attempt to hide glue spots looked like crap, so I took the decision to just paint it. I've sanded it back and am doing it in Caribbean Turquoise metallic ( the colour of the family Kingswood in some of my pics) with a black burst edging. I've ordered a new rosewood neck , gold Wilkinson trem, gold staggered tuners and black and gold Gold Foil pick ups for it.

Is that colour from around 1976 vintage Kingswood, HJ perhaps?
Nice burst effect and should look great with gold trimmings.
HZ Waz :D
this guitar is cursed.
Today I planned on putting the clear coats on but noticed the burst needed a touch up in a couple of spots so masked it all again, got out the air brush, did the job. I was doing this out doors in the car port as I had set up to spray the clear with a bigger gun. As I'm peeling the tape off a stray gust of wind grabs the tape, flips it to a plastic cup of thinners, I'm still pulling on the tape so over goes the cup.....all over the guitar! The air went a different shade of blue to the guitar. Sand it all back. Redo the top colour and burst. Took it inside under under a infrared drying lamp. Back outside. I put on the first clear coats then went for lunch leaving the guitar impaled on a dowel in the jack socket , the dowel supported in a vice clamped to the bench. On returning from lunch the dowel is still in vice but the guitar is laying on the ground! I looked it over, BIG dent in the top horn and a few scratches. the dowel is still in the vice. But the air hose wasn't where I always leave it, it had been moved. Some DIRT BAG had come in picked it up and thrown it on the floor! There is no other way it could have got off 6 inches of dowel. I can only think it was a passing school kid or vagrant who though they were going to steal it till they found it was still wet as the carports contents are visible from the street. So I had to bog up the dent, sand it all back yet again . Finally ended the day with 3 coats of clear on it and the body safely locked away.
Bloody hell. What a ridiculous series of unfortunate events.
Ugh.. Man I hate days like that. If it were me I would have walked away and drunk some beer by now.
I figure these days are to test what it takes for me to finally go postal. Having dealt with Australian gov depts for years........it will take more than this.
However I would not like to be the dirt bag if I ever found out who it was." We have such wonders to show you........
