looking good Andrew, is that a catocaster bottom middle ?
In all seriousness, his name is Gibson so I guess he is a les puuurrrrrlll.
that finish is brilliant Andrew, very nice. This will be a shred machine for sure
Looks like Gibson's gone for the Tele, nice choice!!
Thanks guys. Having a few issues I need to sort out with the wiring. Who would have thought one push pull for both pickups in a cavity the size of a Gibson 3 way would be an issue. That and the neck angle is slightly raised.
Here are a few pics though.

excellent matey..
holy crap Andrew that looks unreal almost bolted together. Well done mate, hopefully its playable soon !
What is the push pull pot supposed to do Andrew, coil split each bucker ? So you using both poles to do this ?
Thanks guys. Wokks yeah it's just a global coil split for both pups. They pups were 4 conductor anyway so why not, adds a bit more flexibility. Wiring is fixed, rookie error x9000. Had the output and earth wires in the 3 way mixed up. Neck is sitting well now as well. When I screwed the neck in, the pressure going into the neck was pushing the Neck up a bit. Unscrewed, clamped, rescrewed, win.
good stuff Andrew, easy mistake, this must be your first push pull pot wiring.
Good call re-screwing the neck. Sometimes if the drill holes aren't deep enough the screws can raise the neck heel from the seated position. Its one of the most important parts of the build !
So we should see a video soon bro !
Cliiiiippppssss
Looking so sweet man.
Second wokks. The ex had coil taps but that was one pup per pot so this is the first with a wiring jungle in one cavity. Its coming to the time where I discover I have a pirates vocab. That's right. Setting up a Floyd for the first time.
As for clips, hopefully soon. Waiting on the truss rod cover, and ordering some decals of Andy so when Ann arrives and she is shiny, there will be carnage. Or powerchords. Either way.
sounds good Andrew, the floyd may take a bit of setting up, what gauge is the heavy B string ? You will have to play with the spring tensions to try and get the floyd sitting flat and staying in tune !
No idea mate, the b was just in that rolled up set. When all the finishing bits come I'll whack on a set of slinkies but just using the ones that came with the kit to set it up. Funny thing is though, the pbg set that comes with the kit doesn't include the 7th string!

so what have you got on the heavy B string now Andrew if it wasn't supplied ? looks like a G bass string ! haha
Honestly, that was easier then I thought. Just had her plugged in. The neck needs to be straightened as there is a slight now under string tension, but the action is pretty low already, no buzzes or weird noises. Noticed acoustically the tone block reverberates, as in you'll hit a note, mute it and the block continues to ring. It doesn't come through the amp though. The blaze pups crush though. Cleans are nice, the middle position tapped is so snappy, really nice. Crunch just sings, heaps of sustain.
But! With a metalzone kicked in, holy balls! I picked up my esp tuned to drop b, but these passives sounded so much fuller. Neck isn't too much of a struggle to get the hang of. Only thing is I reference where I am in relation to low e, so sometimes arpeggios get mixed up caus I'm going for a string that isn't where I'm used to it being.
In conclusion, this thing destroys. So happy with the outcome. Going to learn down from the sky by trivium and will post the results when I get all the sparkly bits put on.
sweet good stuff Andrew, sounds like its gonna rumble alright.
Same as a 5 and 6 string bass takes a while to get used to the extra strings !
You know how there are 2 sets in the box, one is the pbg ones, the other is just the Crap ones I'm sure everyone throws out? Well the 6 normal strings are pbg, and the low b is the shite set.
ah ok got it mate. Not sure if they can count to 7 in the chinese factory plus their fingers are covered in glue 24/7 !
Hahaha very true. Hoping that prs doesn't come with a free set of glue fingerprints.
haha yeah fingers crossed mate
Can't put it down!

looks amazing..:)
God I'm so keen for November when my custom kit comes. Laaaaaaaaawdeeeehh
I will be learning this as soon as I get it:

Epic. My custom kit is on the same ship winding it's way to me. I really want bare knuckles in it hey! It's going 8 string tuning drop tuned and I don't really think any sd or dimarzios will cope.
I reckon Misha Mansoor's Juggernauts would be perf but they're about $400 for a set. Too bloody expensive for me haha. I might have to stick with stockies for a bit until I see something decent used.
How are those pups in this one with the higher gain stuff? Do they get muddy?
Ps. Siiiiiick song. That solo rips.
Just thought I'd share this. A mate dropped his scratch build bass over for me to change the potspots on. What do you reckon? Pain to play sitting down but I kind of like it hey. Semi hollow too.

Mate ive got dimarzio blaze custom 7s in mine. No idea what the stockies sound like. Tapped the single coil in the bridge djents it's face off whilein full bucker mode it's really thick and tight. The bottom b is a bit farty when muting distorted stuff, but it's more to do with the metalzone bass knob maxed, amp bass maxed and playing through a 2x12.
I'm thinking aftermath set. You can get an uncovered set for around $350. Still a lot of coin but worth it.
Have you tried using the metal zone as a clean boost on that amp of yours? It'd clean up a lot of the flubb on the low end. Boost your mids a bit more too and back off the bass. I find that helps the most when I dial in my amps.
And yeah aftermaths are rad man. Any BKP is really :P
Yeah and it works great. Only drama is its single channel so that way it's dirty or nothing
nice logo Andrew, looks great the white on black
The guys a genius.
My trc came today, so tonight I'll seal her up and get some gotm photos. Yew!
nice one bro, wondered if this was going to be ready in time
Yeah man. It doesn't hold a candle to your flame job but a 7 string needs to represent.
