I knew someone would notice what was missing [emoji2]

It's my initials (EF), designed as part of a series of monograms my mate did when we were both working at a design agency in Sydney, for staff and clients. As far as I know, I'm the only one who got this one, and I've used it in a few contexts.
I was intending to do something more cursive (as seen briefly in my AIB project), but it all got too hard, and I remembered I had the monogram to work with.

I can see that now, but I thought they'd be "DM" :pQuote:
It's my initials (EF)...
Funnily enough, the designer's initials are DM.

Bought a new soldering iron, and life is a lot easier now. But not quite sure how to wire the switch.
The diagram I have from electric herald is very useful, but I'm not sure how to interpret the alternating tabs on the switch diagram. My switch has 8 in a row. I looked at the Pitbull TL wiring diagram for HH, but the switch in the diagram has 7 in a row.

On the 7-in-a-row switches, the 4th/middle common connection is basically the two middle connections on the 8-in-a-row switch pre-joined together, which you'd do both for a standard Strat configuration and also in this situation.
Note that in the diagram the two common connections, one per side, are shown joined together. On the 8-in-a-row switch , the two common terminals are arranged to be next to each other in the middle of the switch, as opposed to at opposite ends of the switch on the 4-a-side-style switch.
The 7-in-a-row switches save a bit of time for standard configurations, but don't allow the flexibility to do something a bit different from the norm.
As you are mixing pickups from different sources, there is a 50/50 chance that the output polarities will be reversed on one pup compared to the other, so the mid position will give the thin 'Peter Green' 'out-of-phase' sound. If this happens, and you don't want to keep it (it's interesting but far less generally useful than the standard mid-position sound), then you need to swap the output connections on one of the pickups, either the red and green on the Tonerider or the black and yellow on the Artist. Only swap one pair, otherwise you'll end up back where you started from! The bare/screen wire always goes to ground regardless, so you'll have to separate it from it's current wire connection to do the swap.
Ok cool, I think that all makes sense. I'll give it a crack tomorrow. Thanks Simon!

Simon gave a great verbal (?) description, here's a photo that might help too:
Attachment 42037
The photo shows PBG Tele wiring but the concept will be same with exception of HB's instead of SC's since you're not doing any coil splitting.
It's alive! F@#& yeah!

Looks great Dozy. Well done.
Very cool dozy. What's it weigh in at?
Did you make the neck also? I can't remember... too lazy to go back...
I'm drooling over the boss level bevel
Current weight (minus a few strings) is ~2.6kg.
And no, I didn't make the neck. I reckon I'm 2 or 3 projects away from attempting that.

It really comes together well when assembled.
Looking at the top E string break angle, you'll almost certainly probably need some string trees, especially as the nut needs to come down which will reduce it a bit further. No point trying to set it up without them.
Thanks Simon
Yep, I've pulled the strong trees out of the box :)
Very cool. Love the wood grain...and...are those Gretch knobs?
Nah, just plain flat tops from Real Parts.

Calling this done. First semi-scratch build. She-oak top, paulownia bottom. Custom headstock shape and profiling on a Pitbull neck. Grover Rotomatic tuners, Tonerider AC4 bridge pickup, Artist Bullbucker neck pickup. Can't remember where the bridge came from.

I may go back and rewire the neck pickup, but not much of a concern at the moment.
More likely is that I'll replace the neck with a smaller headstock, because it feels a bit out of proportion. E.g. MM-style, 4+2.
Other than that, very happy with it. Set up was tricky as first, but turned out fine, and it plays like a beast. Looking forward to it settling in.

I’m sure you could simply reshape the existing headstock to a 4+2.
Great work Dozy. The pale neck with the sheoak looks wonderful.
Congrats Dozy! Well done on a very unique and cool looking scratch build. Stoked for you and glad it plays like a boss too [emoji106] I'm still envious of those dope bevels!!
