Mark's LPM-1E

The back is coming up exactly how I wanted it. Very hard to capture in a photo, but nice and red with just a hint of the grain popping through highlighted from the ebony timber mate (see last photo for close up). Nice and textured how I was hoping and the paint may even sink back a little further as it dries more.

Now tossing up between spraying satin clear or tru oil on the rear.

Satin will make it feel nicer in your hands IMO

Agreed. I do have TO on hand though vs buying a new can of trusty cabbotts satin PU. I don't mind the TO feel on the necks I have done with it already.

If you don't do too many TO coats it should still retain some of that graininess and be a bit less glossy.

Precisely what I was thinking, Sir. Just enough to seal and protect.

3 coats of Tru oil on the rear and it's feeling pretty good and sealed now. Will leave this to harden up for a while and then give it a light run over with the white scourer which should leave a nice satin finish.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a2d6475828.jpg

I see you went for the knob pointers. I fit those as well. They just add a certain something I think.

I totally agree. I've got them on all my builds and other guitars where suited. There is something about pointers that just does it for me. I reckon they set the knob off really well looks wise. And now I'm in the habit of using them to dial in specific sounds I'd miss them other wise.
