Woks, Sydney is the 19th. I am only going 'coz it's free and I've never been before.
@ DB, yes I knew you would have put the Icey body through the bandosaurus haha
@ Rabz your show is the night after the Perth show, you will enjoy the band
I, for one, won't be attending.
Could see myself getting into a fist fight with the fender reps cause I would be pointing out to them that fender have been treating their customers with contempt by producing all of these over priced relic pieces of crud :p
Fender bought out a Carbronitas for a zillion trillion $$$ limited edition in 2009, i have mine ready to go top quality parts < $400, i have had the parts body neck etc since 2009, just havent got around to it, next guitar off the rank.
As soon as they realised people were throwing La Cabs together for change, they made a cheaper MIM version.
Mick I think DB isn't a fan of any of the Fenders built in the last 2-3 decades, sure he will confirm that
Yhep, the 70’s was the beginning of the decline but there are a few really nice ones out there as our fearless leader Adam will confirm.
But when you compare the rubbish clones being built today, I would take a pre 1980 model anytime.
Pic is of one of the relic hunks of junk being offered, nearly 6k for a guitar that has come pre munted...
I have found some nice Japanese built Fenders (80's & 90's 7 more recent) and they don't seem to attract the extortionate price tags of the USA models.
One of my fav's is the TL62B

Some of those MIJ's were really good.
