It may be a week or three before I get that colour on - only ordered it this week. Plenty of time for circumspection and neck set up while I wait. :-)
I think a black scratchplate will work better than the stock white one. Opinions on hardware?

agreed Glenn, I'd say black pickguard and probably black hardware will go well with the dark ash grain
Ah, but when I go back to my inspiration image, it actually works with white!

Agreed, black PG might make things a little too sombre . . . although it would depend on the depth of that blue IMO.
You could always consider a nice blue swirl - just hop in that spa with it?
The way I see it, white (which was supplied with the kit) will work, as demonstrated above. I can always experiment later. Onwards!
Plus, my great-grandmother was raised in Arden Street, North Melbourne ...
nice pic of the blue with white pickguard Glenn. I'd make a decision once you see how deep the blue turns out !
Pest is also a Kangaroos fan so he would vote the white pickguard !
Looking great GGP! The black ash grain will highlight very nicely under the blue. For my mind the white pickguard is a better choice, although I would go white pearl ;) .
cheers,
Gav.
Can always go pearl later!
blue and white for sure - go CATS!!
or antique white/cream would look good
