If you're using pup rings with your humbuckers (which I'm guessing you are) clear coating the cavities is kind of just a waste as you'll never see it once you drop the pup in. Personal choice really but imo unnecessary.

Great job with the binding Bec! For my 2c, if you are using Wudtone clear coats you'll want to keep as much of it as you can for the body. Dont waste it in any of the cavities.

Bec - Great looking LP - love the depth you've got in the green! Best thing for the cavities is either copper shielding tape or some other conductive paint. That should help with reducing hum from outside RF noise.

Cut a thin line out of the headstock and filled it with the green dye. It's not -perfectly- straight, but there's no going back now! :P

Good point Gav, I feel like there's not a whole lot of topcoat in these kits, I should save it for the important bits :)

Thanks Brendan. I bought some shielding tape.. I guess it doesn't really matter whether or not I paint the cavities before shielding. Easy :)

well done Bec headstock looks cool and the body will look sweet with clear coats. Good move on copper shielding the cavities

Great work, looks killer. Just a note, if you shield the pickup cavities, it will slightly change the sound from your pups, youll get about 5% more midrange and 5% less highs due to increased capacitance between the pup induction and the surrounding shielding. If you dont want this, shielding the control cavity will remove hum without changing the tone (single coils may still hum). Also, if you go thin on the clear coats, youll probably find that theres plenty to go around. That tiny amount really does last.
