Good! On the ES-1 kit I was looking at for someone else, the pickup cavities were a bit undersized and I had to enlarge them to get the pickups moving freely without snagging the sides. And now I've just remembered that the routs in your SG were oversized, so you've probably got loads of room. D'oh!
I like the logo, matches the overall theme of this guitar. Almost at the finish line!
Jerry Garcia....nice!
After months of pain and a final op im back on track. Hernia in the groin....think of being kicked in the family jewels kind of pain...Hey, welcome to old age!!
WOW ive missed so much on the forum..
Its 2 weeks after the op and im finally able to sit down and do some more on the guitar.
When the pickguard was screwed down the 2 thin ends sat a bit away from the guitar face so ive set in 2 tiny magnets to help hold it down.
I used toothpicks in the screw holes to set it in place before i traced an outline on the tape and drilled the holes for the magnets. Now just need to glue one each to the back of the pickguard..

Next comes out my dodgy magnifier for all my close up wiring (another sign of old age) and DAMN are those switches fiddley!

ive set all the switches in polystyrene for easier workability but realised they are a mirror reverse and have to work out the wiring diagram accordingly.
Still on the wiring, ive printed a black and white copy of my coloured wiring diagram and colour in the wiring as i do it so i dont make any mistakes, and also written on the poly the pot positions.

I got an old piece of lan wire, stripped it and used the thin coloured core wire for the earth as it was green and doesnt need to be very thick.
