In the spirit of guitar making, he could make one. Or get Adam to start stocking a selection of Pit Bull hair-metal wigs.
Now there's an accessory range which isn't listed yet!
'The Bon Jovi'
'The David Coverdale'
Just for starters...
Motley Crue and we will throw in some wash off tatt stickers too.
Maybe something for Adam to think about at the start of next April?
Just put the decals on, v happy with this! Still needs the final clear coat.

Very clever.

Thanks folks, I'm chuffed with this bit. The body is coming along too and I think I'll run with the satin sunburst body and the high gloss neck. I tend to find the gloss necks feel a bit sticky when you get a bit sweaty, if so I'll work the back of it with some steel wool take the shine off.
I have been using Brasso to bring home a nice shiny gloss and then run some Nu Finish car polish over that and it looks very glossy without the sticky feeling. 1500 or 2000 grit W & D done dry is another option but does take it back to satin look.
Ok so let's put this in the correct thread...
Just did the clear coat on the decals, seems to have no reactions or nasty stuff....... marvellous!

Brilliant idea with the routed headstock, looks cool.
Wayno.
Final coat of clear on the headstock, now the waiting game for the poly to harden.......... I'll give it a week or two......

That ,ist have been a fiddly little job getting the F decal cut into shape and positioned right. Just thinking about it make my toes curl!
Looks really cool.
Thanks Sonic!
This is the build I am most excited about so far (except the Macklay one, but that's for a different reason)
I'm really looking forward to hearing how it sounds with the three pickups wired together, and the satin body with the gloss neck and mod strat plate is coming along nicely. I have a stock squier strat and a squier Tele which I modded with humbuckers. The strat, a beautiful guitar, rarely gets played as it doesn't have sounds that I really like, I keep coming back to the LP. The Tele is kinda out of a job as the LP does that, so I'm probably going to sell the squire guitars and keep this one if it works out as good as I hope!
You can never have too many. I get it though, my G style guitars don't get used much, they are all a bit too similar. Also I've discovered that I actually prefer F styles after thinking I wanted a les paul for ages. I suppose I'll have to build a strat at some point....
Time for a bigger wall?
Mine sit in a rack or cases mostly. Really hoping I have some good wall space in our next place to have them a bit more accessible, and on display.
I find my bought guitars aren't getting much attention either. The builds are so much more fun.
I have some catching up to do.
Haven't started on the wall yet.

cheers, Mark.
Nice work on that headstock man. not easy
Thanks Andy, it was more nerve wracking than hard really, one slip with my cheap router and it would have not worked. If that happened my fall back position was to do a straight Tele with no strat mods, I did the routing as the first job. When it worked I knew I could do the rest.
Getting the polish out!
I sprayed it in satin poly, but it seems to want to shine as I'm polishing the imperfections out...... didn't expect that, but it looks ok.

That looks sick Andy, it’s a great blending of the two styles. Top stuff!
Thank you sir!
Getting close now. Electrics all in and shielding done. Lots of holes in this guitar so it needs lots of tape!
Just strings and string trees to go, and a final polish before I start messing with the setup.

Looks great andy. Didn't take long to get it made.
I guess you've had some practice.
My tele-strat is in the home straight but well behind the field.
cheers, Mark
Thanks Mark,
It's a fair way from done, you know how it is by the time all the fiddling around is finished it will be a few more weeks. Going to polish the body with some furniture wax which I think will look good.
It works! Had a couple of days off so got more done than I thought I might. Had a problem with the blend, it was acting as a master volume. Retired another pot in and now all good. Still lots of setup to do, but intonation is now ok and there's not too much fretbuzz. The extra pickup on the blend seems to work wonderfully, dialling it in shifts from the brittle Tele twang to a much warmer sound. All 3 pickups running together sounds huge. The extra pickup really moves the sound to a humbucker rather than the strat out of phase thing, especially on the bridge pickup. When I have the middle pickup on its own it seems quite bassy, which really helps the sound but doesn't sound super on its own.
Anyhow, happy with it. I'll finish it off next weekend and get a sound sample so you can hear what it sounds like in the different positions, I'll apologise for the playing now...

Certainly looks the business! :)
Very noice indeed.
Thanks guys! I'm hoping it will fill the position currently taken by my Korean squier strat and Tele, both 89 models. I don't really play the strat much, I generally play rock so use the LP kit guitar more. But this has some bite with the tonerider pickups and a really nice full sound with the centre pickup in the mix. Got some buzzing 2-6 frets, I'm guessing it is the relief in the neck. Letting it sit for a day or two before playing with the truss rod.
Replaced the stock tone capacitor with an orange one, which really seems to be a good upgrade as the roll off on the tone now seems to be useful, on the strat and the Tele it just kills the clarity.
Ok been held up with this one, trying to get a sound sample up with the different pickup configuration, but I have a crackle on the output. I'm going to strip it and go back through the wiring, I suspect the earth for the centre pickup, that's where I'll look first.
Been fiddling with the frets and truss rod to get the setup as perfect as I can.
The chrome on the bridge and the Tele control plate is horrid so they will need to be replaced at some time... but on the whole I like the look and feel of it.
Sorted the crackling, the ground on the blend knob wasn't wired through to the output which was giving some very strange crackling and output level issues, pretty obvious when I opened it up what was missing. Tests ok now, I'll get an audio demo featuring my bad playing when I get a moment.
