Oh my, doesn't that spalted top look so shiny, almost as if it was still wet.
Superb finish Adam.

Know that feeling.
On latest build I also ran out and burned through during final polishing and had to buy another small bottle to do the touch ups.
Can't rush these things.
Im going to scratch the hell out of it playing and sweating all over it and im pretty happy with it as it is its 95 % not 100%
Yep guv lots of beer now its heading to winter some home made stuff can happen

Don’t even think about lightning striking twice mate, you’ve got this. That spalted is amazing.
Wayno.
That finish is jaw-dropping!

Just waiting on the switch, socket and knobs to turn up now and i can wire it up

Classic look.
So a conundrum an all black bridge are a black with brass roller bridge Attachment 25901Attachment 25902
Ive done the trussrod cover i might get some black screws Attachment 25903
It would be hard to even see with black screws
Black Sharpie will cover those screws up, even if just as a stopgap. But then you have got silver tuners, so they don't look odd in themselves.
But then do you go also for black screws for the pickup rings and height adjuster screws?
Good point Simon.
I'd round off the top almost triangular part of the truss rod cover as the stock ones just look to blunt and abrupt in the way they have the small squared off bit on top.
Plenty of cheap Chinese wannabe ones on eBay, some engraved too.
For the bridge, function over form every time. Plus your right hand will be covering the brass roller saddles most of time and after a while they will oxidise to a duller shade and hardly be noticeable.
The saddles certainly don't stand out in the pictures.
Man, this looks really killer. Excellent work! I love the natural look, feels like a classic instrument. Ageless.

Swear words swear words swear words, had every thing working and like the usual with these guitars something went amiss getting it into the f holes and only one pickup working. Try again tomorrow i dont have the patience to pul it all out tonight

Yes I have been there with the semi hollow Lp kit I did, frustrating! Very wise to give it a while before coming back to it...
That’s a real pain that, happened twice on my es-3 and I decided to upgrade the wiring and add some heat shrink tubing to hold them all together.
Stick a lead in, then use a multimeter on the end of the lead and it should tell you if you've got a broken wire (open circuit) or a signal taken to ground (short circuit). It helps to know what you're looking for when you take it all out again. But if it all looks OK, I'd suggest checking the 3-way switch as I've had similar switches go faulty and short one or both pickup signals to ground.
Mate that thing is gorgeous. I too picked the humbucker sized P90's. they sound great too.
Had to rewire mine I think 3 times and I destroyed a pot in doing so....you are not alone.
Thanks simon but it was all working fine before i put it through the f holes im syarting think of why they made them f holes
Wireing issues all soeted it was some soder had run down the cloth and was touching the braided wire shorting the pickup out Attachment 26104
That. Is. Gorgeous.
Good to hear you got it sorted. Looks great.

I've was having some trouble intonating so i swaped out the nut for a graphtec and layed it back a bit and put some phosphor bronze 11s on and its all good.
I've got to say the rebel p90s sound sweet i dont think you could go too wrong putting them in any guitar,
I'm a converted fan now
Attachment 28995 i haven't played this one much latley and was having a good look at it and the neck has bowed a fair bit in 6 months strings are now a good 6mm above the neck, just shows how much tension is on the neck
Attachment 28996the wifes new kitten seems interested
It why you need to have a bit of adjustment left in the truss rod when you’ve finished setting the guitar up. You are going to have to adjust the set up a few months down the track.
