Love the logo
Have a weighted logo plate that spins on an axis, so it's always the right way up whichever way the guitar is orientated.
Drums. He’s rubbish on bass due to being left handed. I keep telling him to find a right hand but he says two lefts make him ambidextrous.
He could always add a toe to one hand.

Ouch. That hurts just looking at it.
Been playing with logos for the headstock on this. It has a basic black logo on the front, but I want something else on the rear. A bit more branding.
I've been fiddling with this as a tester.

Its just a variation on the Hex W logo i've been using, not sure i I'll run with it or not. I may need to adjust it all to run lengthwise to fit properly on the Headstock face. But like I say a work in progress.
How about "You're saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven and a half foot long fifty four inch wide Gorilla?"
Wait, probably a tad long.
cheers, Mark
Needs more bolt.
From a design perspective, try to be more bold with the wording. As in Sonic's designs, the wording is defined and easy to read. When logos use a wishy washy, stringy font, they can be frustratingly difficult to decipher especially when they get a bit smaller. :)
I don’t much care what the wood is, pine, wenge, eurobeech, kauri you name it I’d rather sweat through sanding sawing chiselling or routing stupidly hard or splinter prone woods than work with plastics.
This all stems from realising that the Realparts LH Strat pickguard I bought would not fit properly to the screw pattern on my ebay’d LH Strat body.
No probs says Igor, let’s just get a blank in and shape a custom one, using the Realparts version as a template for the PUP and neck slots and make it suit our screw pattern.
i really need to stop listening to Igor.
i will photographically document my frustrating end result of this fiddly, infuriating process when I can stand to look at it again. I left it on the bench in disgust last evening rather than fight with it some more.
Please excuse the venting, I’ve been stewing on it since last night. Next time I’ll just send a drawing and a spec to Pabs and save myself the swearing.
Pabs must have gone through that same swearing a lot process.
He's probably down to only swearing every other sentence by now.

If nothing else it reinforces to me that while I might think I can do everything, sometimes it’s just a lot less painful to have others do it.

So we have all the requisite holes, bar the five way switch slot. My existing SD AL2 pick up fits through all the pup slots and the holes line up. Most importantly the pup adjuster holes line up.
I’ve got to get the edge chamfer sorted yet, and I’ve figured out a way to do that so we’ll test that tomorrow before starting on the scratch plate. If I can get that done, then we’ll matte it off and see if we can live with it.

Makes a right proper mess when using power tools to shape the stuff.
With lots of static electricity just to add to the fun factor.
Just like scraping Tru-Oil off bindings. The shavings adhere everywhere.
So , we have finished it off.

And setting it in place it all looks pretty Shmick, I'm not 100% happy with it's there is some inaccuracy on some of the curves and the lower(upper) horn screw hole seems to have drifted 1-2mm too far south(north).

In looking at it though, I wonder if it is all a bit shiny, so I'm thinking I might Matte it off in a similar fashion to this.

I may sleep on that as I have no electrics for this thing so it isn't going anwhere and I still need to apply the final coats on the neck and HS face. It's not like there's any lack of things to do in the FrankenLab. Thoughts and opinions fellow forumites?

White PUP covers, control knobs and selector switch tip might help?
Nothing wrong with all shiny black. Won't stay that way forever once it gets some use.
I must say that the lower horn shape of the pickguard doesn't really match the actual horn shape of the guitar. Looking at pics of real Strats, the inside edge of the horn part of the guard stays a fairly constant distance from the edge.
