Nice Phrozin, I take it the arm has come good now? Have you had any issues with strength or range of motion when you sprayed?

Nice Phrozin, I take it the arm has come good now? Have you had any issues with strength or range of motion when you sprayed?
sort of had the dreaded injection in the shoulder a month ago doc said its taking a bit longer to heal as being in wheelchair makes it a bit more complicated and seen my surgeon yesterday got to have a double dose of steroids next week but its good enough to get back to my guitars. just going to take a bit longer to sand them no biggy
Well good to hear you're on the mend and back into it mate, shoulders are never easy. Hanging out to see how the LP turns out!
just a bit off progress the les paul has been giving me nightmares as had to repaint twice as 1st got it finished and i stuck me thumb on it and made a hell of a mess on soft paint 2nd i knocked it on my wheelchair trying to hang it up to dry and put a dent in it
so far i have 3 coats of silver followed by 2 coats of clear to protect the silver then the blue and so far only 1 coat of clear but still lots to do before its finished and if i am not 100% happy with it i may do it again, i have had a few issues to fix but gives the general idea of the way i am heading still haft to paint front of headstock black before i shoot the clear
my next guitar i am going to do it in 2k

That Blue on the Silver looks awesome.... (as do all of your builds in this thread)...
Me thinks that a lifetime of well earned skills has prep'd you well there Phrozin to get almost any finish you want..... and I suppose much of it is knowing when one stage (or coat) is ready and it is time to progress onto the next... plus there is (what I don't have) having the patience to wait.
Oh yummmy

thanx guys Marcel i can stuff them up as good as anyone,
Frank it comes from painting they look great to every one but you know where every blemish is and it bugs me so bad i just got to fix it before i sign off on them, this one has been the most annoying i have done the colors do work well together would have liked the blue more translucent than it is probably should have done a 50/50 blend color to clear but its a nice blue i guess.
Cheers Frank thats a lot of gravy there careful my head will swell, have put a new one on the to do list an acoustic i am not a acoustic guy as only ever owned 1 an ibanez elec acoustic i had 20 year ago i had it 3 day and swapped it to my bro for an epie les paul anniversary custom the one with the les paul pictures on the back and in the paint sounded crap and sold it a week later for a strat, well figured id give one a go its nothing special just a ashton dm25 i swapped one of my electric i did, i have so far fitted a fishman pup got new nut and bridge and decent machine heads. The front had darkened so have done some test sanding which will sort that out and going to do a killer natural look ( but that could change between now and shoot time) but will be stain based.
so got a strat im waiting on some parts and paint to fully harden to do final polish, the silver and blue les paul which i started to repaint again as have redone silver and ill lay down 2 coats of clear then the blue and final clear coats and hope i get it right and the acoustic will be a full sand back and go from there, would like to do an sg as im a huge ACDC fan and i get my love of strats from David Gilmore and Eric Clapton
here is what im starting with

Nice looking blank canvas on the acoustic there Phrozin.
Is the rosette an actual inlay, or is it a sticker?
Quite a few years ago now I fitted a pickup and pre-amp to a Yamaha acoustic. Cutting the hole for the pre-amp certainly wasn't easy as I had far less tools than I do now. Whilst it had a solid top, the sides and back were laminate and it splintered very easily.
Looks like you've done a very neat and tidy hole cutting job there, Phrozin.
hey guys the latest update
@ Zandit its a inlay i actually through it was a sticker have ordered a new one for it and a few other new bits
@stan yeh was a pain to get it all even i thought it would be easier than it was, i went out and brought a heap of cordless tools to make life a bit easier and a new gravity touch up gun which i have done this lot with along with my airbrush
haven't done much more on the acoustic, been really busy with the Les Paul and the bitza strat, repainted the Les Paul finally happy with it, its all cleared and stored for it to fully dry then polish in a week or a bit longer as its cold as here in Adelaide, The strat because its a bunch of parts and left overs i am experimenting with so it could end up something crazy
here's the Les Paul paint is finished its all cleared by far the most annoying guitar i have done so far 3 coats primer 3 coats of silver and 9 coats of clear picture is with some light on it

Nice burst, not so nice burn. Ouch! Hope it mends quickly and you don't get an infection in it.
Also, your Photobucket account says it isn't allowing 3rd party hosting (you need to 'upgrade' = pay them more money), so can't see any large photos. This is a recent Photobucket change (end of June) and apparently now costs US$399 a year to do so! Definitely time to find a new image host.
I'm not sure what hurts more, your foot or Photobucket's burn.
Ouch man!!!
Lovin your work but not that burn!
Heal fast dude.
Sent from outta space using MartianTalk
thanx guys i cant feel it anyway if theirs an up side to braking your back you don't feel any pain but i do some stupid things at times lol
@simon have no idea about photobucket simon $399 bugger that its not a real good site as its always laggy when i upload think ill find a new one any ideas who? was thinking about doing videos of my builds and up load to youtube

Wildest colours I've ever seen on an acoustic!
Still seeing the small thumbnails on the posts, but either getting error messages or a constant whirring symbol when clicking on them to see a bigger picture. Probably easiest if you can upload them to the forum so that we can see them in more detail. even when logging out from photobucket, they are probably still in your cache, which is why you can see them.
Edit: Tried again and finally got the 'Photobucket upgrade account' message but pressed F5 a couple of times and it showed the big photo.
But it's very flaky with big time-outs and very unpredictable.
you are king of the spray gun phrozen,. Love the colour, looks great
Simon if i log out of photobucket and go to see the pics i can see them no worries at all, not really sure whats going on think ill buy myself a video camera and video them and stick them on YouTube photobucket is so laggy at times but i don't spend a lot of time on the laptop so not quite sure what to do about it, i do so many guitars i would clog up the forums
@Dedman cheers mate
As I said previously, Photobucket are now charging you (since the end of June) a lot to link from 3rd party sites. You've probably still got a cookie on your device that Photobucket uses to identify you with the photos.
Must say I have security concerns when being redirected to sites like photobucket and tend to click off straight away.
I like the thumb nail shots that you have posted Phrozin. The latest Strat looks great, even with the black scratch plate.
Cheers, Waz
hi guys finely finished the Acoustic i have over 90 hours in her, pictures don't really do it justice as my ph is a piece of crap it looks like glass pretty happy how it turned out will be my last post till i get a new video camera to be able to load to youtube hope you guys like it
@simon you were right about photo bucket bloody rip offs
Yes, Photobucket have created a lot of very unhappy people around the world. Loads of forum threads and blog pictures ruined.
That's a very shiny guitar you have there, Phrozin.
That is very, very shiny! I love it!
HI Guys my latest project i picked up a strat off gumtree on the weekend for $30 had the burst colour which i hate and a 22 fret neck and had a few set up issues nothing to big but worth the effort, i have done it in Shanghai red done with rattle can. I wanting to put humbucker in this one
owww I love that red
thanx chrissyinbkk
finish another strat tonight sort off a bit of trial and error trying some new things on it so could change somethings its rattle can and took 1 1/2 days to do
Attachment 22032
Geez, that looks good. Did you also spray the scratch plate to get the same colour?
yep but i got my yellow pearl pick guard today which was like finding rocking horse sh#t to find and only took 6 weeks in the middle of changing it over atm
also cutting down a strat i dropped it a dented the paint so i figured why not as got heaps of strats have cut out the horns and around the middle about an inch, still might cut some more also have cut down the pick guard as a demo going to put humbuckers in it, i find to hard playing my Les Paul as it to heavy to balance it in my wheelchair

nice one Phrozin love the yellow and black hardware. You said it was hard to find the yellow pearl guard and trem cover ?
Looks top notch, you better enter Rocktober GOTM !
whats ontop of the tremelo ? can't work it out
nah i don't do the GOTM Wokk before my accident i was a prof auto spray painter, the GOTM is for guys and girls who are not professionals it takes away what Gotm represents. don't know what you meant its just a plain strat trem yeh yellow pearl guard was a pain to find the trem cover was ok green pearl ones are the same did a green strat and couldn't find one so change direction with it. The other strat i'm doing is going to be red so going to use a hsh or hh red pearl guard which ill order soon pbg have them
Yellowy goodness
