And here we go with the shielding.

And after:

Another guitar that should stay free of snails and slugs with all that copper tape! [emoji1]
So you've got your shields up. Time to fit the tractor beam? ;)
Not sure the teactor beam will fit! And I'm still looking for the Death Star plans!!!
And here we go, all the bits are together now and strings are on:

I've plugged it in and it all seems to work as expected.
I haven't set the bone nut height yet, and no intonation is done, so sounds pretty average, but I'm going to let the strings stretch a bit and the neck find it's shape before I get onto that.
Looks great! Any chance of some pics with the LEDs on?
Looking really cool now FredA, you should do a demo once it is all up and running.
Thanks guys!
@Simon: The lights are not wired in yet, but cabling is ready:

@Doc: I'll try and do a sound demo once set up. First impression is that the chinese pickups don't sound as nice as the Toneriders or Entwistle I used on my other builds... I've never used the stock pickups so can't really compare to these.
Anyway, I need to do a proper set up before I can gauge
Great theme and well executed!

Hey guys, hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
I need help. I am setting up the Star Wars guitar and I got the nut pretty low by sanding the bottom of it, which is great, but it looks like the slot for the B string is too deep.
It's a bone nut I got from PBG and I didn't make the string slots deeper.
Anyway, do you reckon the nut is dead, and I need to get another one, or is there a way to fill the slot a bit with something?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, done that many times before. But you'll then need to cut the slot again.
I wired the LEDs today:

Now need to find how to customise the trem cavity cover to accommodate the controller...
You've put in some brilliant work, has to be one of the most unique and personal outcomes I've seen.
That is really neat what a nicely themed guitar

Looks fantastic Fred!!
Now to do a contrasting Darth Vader model!! Or maybe even a tribal looking Red and Black Darth Maul version!!
Guitar you have built Hmm? Play it you will, Yes? Strong you are with the Force, great is your power!
I had an R2 quote, but can't use that kind of language as it was completely bleeped out by the film censors.
Looks superb with the LEDs!
Got the controller sorted.
I shortened the trem plate by 10mm or so as it was too long and sitting on the Star Wars logo at the back, rounded the edges off and drilled 2 new screw holes, then drilled a 25mm hole in the middle:

And glued the round controller in place. All soldered and tested now:

Just have to screw in place and take photos!
The awesome is strong with this one.
And here we go, finished!

That's inspirational! I just love the custom work you've done and the hardware mods too . . .
More power (force?) to you dude!
Such a cool build Fred.
Looks cool FredA, you did a great job on the guitar build mate.
