I certainly wasn't sure whether you had two guitars or it was a trick of the light! That looks really nice, Waz. You pleased with it?

I am officially calling this one done (at last). Still has a few minor blemishes here and there but it is about as good as it well ever get before getting the usual bumps and scrapes from playing. Hope to do a sound video before the end of the month.
Thanks Simon.
It became a problem child as I was finishing the wiring and doing the initial setup as the intonation was way out. 3 bridges later plus sanding down about 5 mm in the bottom of the neck pocket and it is now all good, except for the accidental soldering iron scorch mark near control plate. Eventually took it apart and refinished the body along side it's Swampy cousin. Couple of weird swollen lumps on the back where the final polish went down to bare timber but outa sight, outa mind as far as I am concerned now which is a bit ironic coming from an OCD perfectionist like me. Striving for perfection on this one may just be beyond me and I would give it about 95% pass mark compared to where I hoped to get.
A shame about those lumps. Did the wood swell up underneath the finish, or did the TO just lump in those spots?
Nah, lumps were under the finish. On the back so not such a big deal as it will get it's fair share of wear soon enough.
That Tele looks great Wazkelly, I'm definitely going to check out the demo once it's ready, and that reminds me, I'll have to do something about that 51 Tele kit I'm interested in, might see if I can order one the fortnight after this fortnight.
Love that colour!
looks great Waz, is that real binding or faux ? Are they Wilkinson pups ?
colour looks great, really suits the tele shape
look forward to the sound demo
Thanks Woks, correctly spotted as it is real binding & fitted with Wilkinson Classic PUPs.
Just getting in a bit of practice ahead of doing a demo. Mother's day last weekend took up most of that day off and I have a work conference on this weekend so not likely to have any spare time until towards end of the month.
@ Fretty, thanks mate. It is a really hard colour to capture in a photo. Maybe the demo video may do a better job.
Cheers, Waz
Hi buddy, just the one guitar in different light settings. Glad that you like it.
That looks killer Waz. Love the color.. and I like the neck and head being the same color.. now I gotta read thru your swampy to learn how you did the chemical wash.. you got me thinking...
Great job..
Hey Mate, looks cool. I might have missed something, it was bluer than that originally? did you sand it back and restain or did the blue go that colour after TO?
It's a chameleon as it looks different shades from blue to blue/green or turquoise depending on the amount of light. And yes, TO did add a bit of greenish tinge. Did a demo video on Wednesday and about to start editing and then upload to YT. Hopefully should have it posted sometime this weekend. Nothing flash, just me noodling about and will put more effort in when I do a comparison with it's sibling Swampy Tele once that one has been completed.
Rough demo video done a few days ago...

I've been waiting for this vid Waz. man that colour is pretty full on. I see what you mean. Just realised it wasn't a three ply pickguard with the kit, still looks great man. I've played tele Wilks and Toneriders and I think you'll notice the difference.
Nice one Waz. In the zone man! Think you will find the TR's a bit cleaner and clearer. Love the TR's in mine. The neck tone is clear, grunty but not muddy.
Lovely Tele Waz like the demo.

Thanks guys.
@ Andy, tend to prefer look of the one ply scratch plate. Simple and blends in well with the white binding. If there wasn't a huge humbucker PUP hole for the neck PUP I would have gone naked to show off more of the flame top. Too big a hole to hide without looking ugly so went traditional and happy with the outcome.
