haha sorry Nicko forgot about your pink paisley strat, also Candice recently built a conch girl strat and DB built a LP junior in conch girl to see how it looked, currently at Ads place
you might be correct with your colour guess of the JM mate

Tell you what Woks, in the olden days when I was a teen the coolest kid on the block was some kid we named 'Rock & Roll' Dave - everyone was envious of his pink Tokai Breezy Sound Tele. It was gorgeous and light years from us nerds on classical guitars!

haha cool story Ponch. Bet you got him back when you got your Kwaka and joined the French Forest Highway Patrol haha
Also well done Ponch reaching over 1000 posts !
Thanks Woks! Yeah way cooler with the kwaka. 1000 posts - 80% nonsense and 20% good advice for sure lol

Hopefully will start assembly over the weekend and have it photographed properly by the end of the month :)
Really stoked on this build, come out just how it looks in my head.

So glad I re-drilled the headstock, I can sleep at night now knowing that everything up there is exactly how it should be.

Just needs to settle in, have a real good setup and some proper photos shot!
looks wicked Mick, look forward to colour photos !
Nice! What machine heads are they? Looking neat.
Wooo! all done :) pretty stoked on how this turned out.
If you haven't been following the build, its a JM-1 kit with the maple neck from an ST-1M kit, the bridge is from a Pitbull kit as well.... the rest is not.
the mod list is pretty heavy... the body was plugged and re-routed for the new pickguard layout and the original trem cavity filled as well. I then added the TOM bridge and routed out the body for the floating trem.
The body was then sanded and primed and shot with gloss white. the top coat is rattlebomb 'Str8 Purplin' its a metallic/pearlescent all in one.
I plugged/redrilled the headstock and put a maple veneer on to hide the plugs and upgraded to some Gotoh vintage inline tuners and changed the nut. I also opened up the trussrod hole to fit in a 70's style bullet... no way I'd put a truss rod cover on a F style neck so I though this would be a cool little finish.... first time making decals as well.

wow Mick it's a stunner and we finally get the colour revealed. The purple looks amazing, fantastic job, this has got to be a GOTM winner. How does it sound and play ? any chance of a sound demo ?
As per usual Mick stunning guitar. Looks better than a custom shop model.
Wow! Truly superb.
Whoa, this looks amazing. Loving the colour, and the pickguard, and pickup configuration, and the bullet.
I picked up a JM-1 recently as my first kit and this build diary has inspired me to try some mods. Loving the photography too. Excellent work zeromick.
Thanks so much man, yeah I seen your threads asking about the JM... if there's anything you want to ask by all means let me know. I was thinking bout you build actually... I THINK you could drop a standard strat trem in and with some minor routing get a similar pickguard combo (its basically a Fender blacktop Jazzmaster) in it.
And thanks for the props on the photos, I pride myself on shooting a good photo.
couple more snaps at www.michaelphoto.com.au if you're into that :)
yeah Blueshound, a strat trem wouldn't be too difficult.
@ Mick that floating bridge looks ultra cool and TonyVH gave it to you nice.
How does the floating bridge wammy feel compared to a standard trem ?
Its just a std Pitbull TOM bridge... I was originally going to go hardtail and I had the stopbar as well but I figured it was about time I got a guitar with a wiggly bit at the end. So that being said, never having owned any other guitars with a trem... I find it good! I set it up properly so it stays in tune ( I got a locking one as well) from what I can tell and the TOM bridge keeps the strings where they should be as opposed to a tradition Jazzzmaster/Jaguar bridge.
I'm an aggressive player so I didnt want to dick around with the traditional style, function over fashion!
cool no worries cheers Mick. Bet its a fun axe to play and a good range of sounds with the coil split on the bridge pup.
What sort of pups are they again ? (Save me re-reading the thread)
Sexy colour and looks great. Definitely GOTM candidate material.
That's turned out real clean a crisp, the colour looks great, and all assembled - it looks fantastic, Mick! Well done!
rainy days = some swirly collapsing echoes

Still envious of your guitar space Mick!
Nice one Mick, this axe (& demo) are awesome. And you have a chaise lounge in your guitar space!
Thanks Fretworn :) I hear that a lot hehe.
Cheers Andrew... as well as being super badass stylish the chase is good if I ever want to sit down and play because theres no arm rests to bang guitars on, stylish AND practical haha ;)
My wife wants that lounge, I want that guitar set up! very cool video thanks for sharing zeromick!
