don't go any further than 400 grit BG or the surface grain will be so polished the pores won't take as much stain.
Have to call you the sanding man fan! hahah

The Darkine has taken very well, the Bondi Blue is not how I'd expected- but let's see how it cures.
One thing I notice using DT for the first time, woods like ash positively DRINK it! I was quite surprised as I remember Wudtone being more viscous. But that could be my ailing memory, as it's been a while...
Looking forward to seeing how it cures over the next 5 days. 😃😃
looking good BG, I haven't tried bondi blue on ash but tarkine went well with a bit of yellow in the natural ash grain.
How good is the smell ! smells very natural.
It's likely the stains will darken a little as they cure.
More coats and the colour will further deepen
Can't judge the smell, my nose is blocked!
I am very intrigued how it goes and certainly won't be rushing.
The Bondi will need a few coats to get the intensity.
I cant spike it any further as there is a limit to how much pigment can be added to the mix.
Just remember to shake the crapola out of the bottle each time you take some out as the pigment will settle out rather quickly.....
It's getting more intense, I am convinced of it!
That looks really cool BG!
sweet job BG
coming along nicely BG !
Tell you what, the DT has worked fantastically on this ash piece. Very tasty looking

I'm very impressed how these colours bloom after time spent curing. So now we wait for a week (giving me time to get the neck prepped) and then the metallic highlights go on. Then the intensifying coats. Exciting!

Managed to get the photos on the work computer! This is as of last night.
looking good BG
what a beast, this will look great!
VERY impressed with how this is taking! And now that I have my sinuses back I can now appreciate the bouquet of the Dingotone- lovely!!
looking good BG its getting darker.
Have to agree DT smells great when you apply it !
I do love the citrus smell of DB products!
this just gets better, top job El!
This is the second application of the Darkine IC, over the first application of the Bondi Blue IC. It sort of speaks for itself.
Overall I am finding DingoTone a lot easier to work with than Wudtone, and even at this early stage I am becoming convinced the results will be at least match if not exceed the predecessor.
looking better each time BG, looks like you are almost ready for clear coats
Just to get an idea of the look of the Gloria bass- the neck will be stained with DingoTone Colourless neck stain, so I'm guessing this will be a close idea of the finished product.
Looks great BG!
I kind of want to see it with hardware that isn't chrome. But I think black would disappear and gold would be too bright. I wonder if its possible to get hardware with a brass-y or copper-y colour?
It won't be long before the highlights go on...
cant wait to see this finished, that mock up looked great
nice one BG, how many clear coats have you applied ?
None yet- this is all stain.
Really interested to see how this turned out, any chance of more pics Bass Guy?
