Nah my uncle's shop has a powered scroll saw that we used. Amazing thing - can really get a tight cut with it. Would love to have one at home!

yeah cool the scroll saws you can do some amazing cuts with. Not much room for error making a pup surround.
Alright been a while but this is back on track again. Cleaned all the binding and am now waiting for it to clear up a bit before spraying the lacquer. Been extremely damp and wet the last few weeks (extremely unseasonable for southern Sa where I live .
Home stretch!
good stuff Nicko. Its a bummer when weather dictates when you can work on the build !
Looking forward to pics of this beasty !
Sucks to build axes in winter.... My LP was built in winter (mostly) and i had to wait ages for the finish to cure.
thats why you need more than 1 build on the go Pest so there's always something else to do, like plan wiring, fret level etc
Yeah definitely!
you got to have several builds on the go to qualify as a GAStronomist Pest !
I'm itching for my next kit an this one isn't even done yet. :D
I'm thinking a hollow body will be up next. Maybe the gibbo e35 copy
Sounds like a plan Nick!
Sweet. Been good weather last week or so (how about that?) so the guitar is sprayed and curing. Will have pics up next week :)

bad lighting, but how she's looking currently. Very close now!
This thing is looking hot, dude. Keen to see it all together.
looking the goods Nicko that blue cap is really bouncing nicely. Will this have chrome, black or gold hardware ?
Looks like you got a bit of work to do on the neck hahahha
Looking really nice so far, can't wait to see it when it's finished.
Very nice!
Many thanks guys! Tomorrow will be D-Day. Will be attaching hardware and doing the final finesse of the parts.
@Wokks keeping it black for the moment. I want them to sit back and let the awesome figure on the top/rings do the talking!
and yes it does look like a bit of a cricket bat doesn't it ;)
this is coming along nicely Nicko
cool black and blue should look wicked.
Looks pretty simple to wire up, so just pup switch and volume, any other mods to the wiring ?
tuneomatic bridges are easy. Don't forget the earth wire !
yer thats it Nicko, there should be a hole drilled from bridge post to volume cavity. Expose at least 15mm of bare wire and bang the bridge post bush in so it makes contact with the bridge bush, making sure the wire is already installed to the volume cavity
Just wiring and set up and she's done!
Going to hold back on pics until the reveal from now... But I'm pretty damn happy with it. Westy can comment on it too
Awwwww Nicko.... Come on!!
Safe to safe, you lads (and rare ladies) are gonna drool all over this.
Pretty slick build. ;)
Ok ok Pest... Here's a teaser ;)

hows it sound and play Nicko ?
we need pics and a sound demo please bud !
Keeeeeeeeeeeen.
Kick ass. Looks great, how does she sound?
Looks amazing Nick - a really beautiful shredder. What's on the neck and headstock? That isn't just the natural wood colour is it? Looks quite white. I really love the look!
cheers,
Gav.
Honestly a pro job! Love the finish on the top and the back compliments it really well. Awesome!
Absolutely top notch Nick, I like everything about this axe. Well done!

The amount of drool that is pouring out of my mouth is about to drown me... Seriously kick ass work!
And just when you've moved to a 7 string axe, I was thinking of going the other way...
