Yeah the bike takes a couple of tools.....
I'm not telling what the other may take........
Couple of more rings - have actually sold some!
The photos aren't the best- some were taken with a dying phone camera in not the best light.
First one is jarrah on the inside and ash on the outside - love the colour and texture you get from ash in rings...
Next two are pure ash - different dimensions for someone who wanted two rings - one for herself and one for a friend.
Last set of three was the ones that started it all off - a full set - wedding, engagement and eternity ring for my wife - outside pair are maple inside and silky oak outside - middle one is maple inside and walnut outside. Wasn't totally happy with the silky oak - looks great as a sheet, but in a ring - hard to work with and it lost the stippled nature of the veneer.
my other passion
@ Bman the rings look very professional, nicely made, do you have to put a clear coat on them, tru oil ?
@ Jrod, nice rig mate, what's the standing quarter mile time and rear wheel horsepower bro ?
162 bhp on back wheel and 188 at the crank. Top speed of 298 and 0 to 100 in 2.6 seconds. She' tricked up a bit but as standard is about 9 seconds on the 1/4 but everyone can ride fast in a straight line. Im afraid im a bit of a knee down hero (yup one of them hoons).
bloody hell impressive stats Jrod. Just ride safe bro it's a very fast way to be a temporary Australian !
Very nice bit of kit there J
CA my friend Wokks - CA! :).
I have lots of hobbies. Some sit for long periods of time while I either contemplate completion, or move on to some other challenge.
I really enjoy building miniature models out of stuff I find.
Here is my latest contraption, an RC car that I added a ton of detail too.
I made the hard top out of polystyrene. the grille is also completely fabricated it originally came with stickers. The bumper shackles are made from cotter pins, and the antenna is a guitar string. the rigging slings are shoe laces and the cooler and tackle box are scratch built.
It started all out as an Axial SCX10 rock crawler, Called a Dingo of all things. I went crazy with details.

This thing will go anywhere you point it. I waterproofed all the electronics and bearings. It will run completely submerged in water with out a blink.
Here is a video I put together. Oh ya, I do that too.

very impressive graphic artwork Dedman !
Maybe you can incorporate some of your artwork on a guitar build !
I did a bit of prospecting at work today, Tony, you would have been proud! I used a handheld Garrett metal detector wand to search about 50 metres of boulder walls to find the key from a stolen car. First time anyone's used this bit of kit since we got it, and I found the key!
@Dedman: thats very very nice work
@Swanny: Impressed Swanny :D Garrett make good stuff, although i have sold all my Garrett gear. 50metres of wall and a wand, shouldnt be too bad, at least the wand has some surface area. That lil pinpointer on my right hip, in front of my digging blade in the pics, i went in and under all these swings and playground equipment for a woman whos kid had lost a valuable braclet, that was after i went over the whole playground with a detector, found the bracelet and about $20 in coins :D
a couple of older art works, I like to think I've improved since

Obviously, I like to tinker with guitars.. I am also a licensed taxidermist, and tattooer. I also have a couple large tropical fish tanks... oh, and motorcycling...http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...78c40dab8c.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...10b11f25a3.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a0243af50c.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...688674a771.jpg

Forgive my ignorance...but is that a scorpion in that duck looking creatures beak/bill? and are you riding in an open-faced helmet in winter?
Its a crayfish in the duck's bill, typical fare for the Hooded Merganser...
And yes, call me crazy, but full face helmets make me claustrophobic! I have a neoprene mask if its too cold, but the larger windshield helps. I have a short one that goes on in summer...

What kinds of guns are legal there? Ive read differing opinions on Australia's gun control programs... just curious to hear from people who are there.. did it work? In the states, the cities with the most strict gun control laws, tend to have really high crime and gun violence because the only ones with guns, are the criminals... maybe not the right thread for this discussion I suppose, but that is one of my hobbies...

No semi auto large caliber rifles, no military weapons, shotguns ok, larger caliber ok but must not be auto or semi auto...
Works well, very low gun crime, don't have the near weekly school shoot ups the States seem to have, shooters still have outlets for hunting and club competitions.
All guns kept in locked safes, cannot be kept loaded, owners must be club members
Our problem here, in my opinion, are broken systems. We have literally thousands of gun laws on the books, and background checks, etc.. but some of the parts are busted. Our mental health system is one of those.
They also dont seem to enforce the laws that exist very well. When you have a repeat felon charged with multiple gun charges, and allowed to plead guilty to a lower charge and avoid the gun charges, there is a problem. The thousands of laws dont deter criminals if they arent enforced... its a mess. It hurts law abiding, responsible gun owners...
