Looks fantastic Mick. Are the reversed tuners intentional?
Mick, that blue is stunning and a very slick build
Wayne, love the Tele, classic and cool.
Wokka, suck a smooth looking strat, love the finish
Oh man, is that 12 this month? Bloody hell...they are all so good.
Bloody hell, yet again all incredible entries! I was going to enter this month... but nope... absolutely not haha.
what Mike said.. "Incredible " and outstanding efforts by all entrants! Good luck to you all:)
gee its been a while since there was 12 entries in GOTM.
Best of luck to all entrants and even better luck to the judges. Looney will have fun making a decision !
Top entries the lot of them!!! Would hate to be a judge this time round.
How does that work exactly? Do i send my votes through to Adam via email and is the scoring out of 10?Quote:

Nice Guitar Andrew well done Buddy

Alan - Adam will send you an email with the details. You usually get a couple of days to review them, but in this instance, Ads may need to give us a little more time!
Cool, cheers for that ;)Quote:

Very very big month! The work here is incredible. Just a thought, the top 3 get feedback on their work when the month is judged, what do you think about giving feed back to the runners up in no particular order. Just so it gives those guys the chance, knowledge and guidance to get up in the upper echelon next time round.
Thanks for all the amazing entries guys, I don't think we've ever had 12 entries before.
I'll get the judges started now and hopefully have a result by the weekend.
The result being several nervous breakdowns :)
Picked the wrong month to enter my first gotm. Best of luck guys, all the entries were smashing it this month.
Are the 4-D chaps entering the door handle of the pizza oven to make it 13?
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...t1i15-back.jpg
haha yeah Gavmesiter and we got a guitar shape parts tray we made like Stewmacs. The axe handle is missing a neck, strings and hardware Gav, plus its not a Pitbull kit so don't think its eligible mate but you made me laugh !
Best of luck everyone and glad I'm not a judge !
love the idea of constructive feedback for entrants, good luck all
Looking through the Facebook photos does anyone else get the impression of a high end custom luthiers catalogue. Honestly, I'm stumped how you guys get the guitars you do out of a back yard shed. Well done guys.
its a pretty amazing dozen axes entered, I think if you looked back 12 months at the standard they have improved a heap.
Your entry is getting a heap of likes Andrew, well done
Mate even since I've come on board, or since the sale, you can tell by the amount of new threads in the forums and these guys doing first time builds. How they have so much knowledge of the finishing process is anyone's guess but the standard across the board is amazing. I mean, my first build was a bit shite but hanging round you guys for a bit, the second was the lp and that turned out pretty good! I guess excellence breeds excellence.
And we'll done to Adam and crew for creating this company. Because they give a rip about guitars, we are able to come on here and learn a stack of cool stuff!
yer agreed Andrew, also I think the amount of information, links and advice on the forum these days helps first time builders. Back when I started building it was try it out and hope for the best haha
Sure as hell helped me a tonne. Also guys like you, gav and especially Jarrod with all the painting hot tips, as well as all the other dudes on here that always lend advice.
yer thats what the forum is all about, trying to get the best looking and sounding axes possible for everyone !
Who knows what the standard of GOTM entries will be like in 12 months !
Getting nervous now haha
thats the joy of the forum, a family of guitar nerds that all want to make cool axes. And you guys are right, the standard is amazing - great to see
Being a carpenter helps a great deal, and watching youtube does as well.Quote:

Plus...do not underestimate the info you can find in this community 8-)
Very true mate. I'm a chef so the closest I come to wood work is wooden spoons. Even with all the help here I can still manage to shaft something. That's an achievement in and of itself.
Lots of warm and fuzzies in this thread.
Must be guitar love month.
And the results are in...
It was requested that we provide all the comments from all the judges, so here they are. (Note: a couple of the judges were a bit slack with providing comments, not naming any names {it was the two Phils})
So, without further ado... in alphabetical order:
1. Andrew’s LP-1S
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...drewLP-1-S.jpg
Beautiful colour and finish. A touch of class
Pretty special LP here.* Lots of nice attention to detail.* Would have liked to see more gradation in the burst, but apart from that a great guitar – you should be proud of this effort!
Bought the flame out nicely. I like the detail and the naming of the guitar via the truss rod cover
Wow, this one is really special. Such a great flame/gloss finish, you clearly know what you are doing. I look forward to seeing more builds from you Andrew.
2. BarryLicious’s MB-1
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...iciousMB-1.jpg
Technical and original finish. A unique guitar
Beautiful effect and nicely done. Would have loved to see a logo somewhere with your name on it Barry.
Interesting swirl effect.
Barrylicious, I'm not a fan of the swirl, but if I was, you would be my hero. This is so well executed I can start to see the appeal. A one-of-a-kind axe to treasure. Bonus points for the video.
3. BenWA’s TL-TH
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...enWATL-1HA.jpg
Classic design with nice personalised touches.
Solid TL. Good clean lines – would have liked to see a logo somewhere to own it.
The TL-1TH is one of my favourite kits and this is a really nice execution. Tasteful and elegant, I would be happy to have this one in my collection.
4. Dave Haen’s ES-2V
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...2V-900x769.jpg
Oozes class and originality.
Amazing build – love the quilted look that has come out and the attention with the new pickguard.
Great attention to detail with the screw in the centre of the F hole as well. All up a super build.
Would be proud to have this one at home.
Great finish. Love the padauk covers. Awesome choice of colour and well thought out. I'd pick this up immediately.
Dave, this is just a beautiful guitar, there's nothing more to say. I would certainly like to take this one home. Can I take it home?
5. Gavin Turner’s MK-2
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...TurnerMK-2.jpg
Exquisite finish. This guitar resonates with me. I must have it.
Spot on with this one. Love the nice simple look. Only negatives – some small waves in the pickguard near the tone knob. Other than that would have been right up there.
Difficult to get a really good white, this looks the business. Another excellent guitar from Gav.
Gavin, I've already said how much I was blown away by that video you posted. I LOVE this guitar, but I LOVE even more how cool you look playing it... you nailed that chord progression. When we look back on Pit Bull Guitars in years to come, this will be one of those "milestone" builds that we all remember fondly. Keep it up mate!
6. Lambert.Micah’s SH-1
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con....micahSH-1.jpg
Unique, flawless, original.
Beautiful job – nicely sprayed, with good attention to detail. Love the simple looks of the guitar with the black bling. Nice to own the guitar though with some logo or something like that.
This looks well put together. Nice to see one of these completed as not too many have been done. At least there are no point off for forgetting to put in a truss rod cover!
I was blown away by the finish on this guitar, this guy really knows what he's doing. Well done for going "outside the box" with the colour choice, I think it really works.
7. Peter Cordi’s SG-1F
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...1F-900x616.jpg
Truly a modern classic.
Nice guitar this one. Good choices in colours for the bling, etc. Nice flames coming through…
Understated, sophisticated, subtle… I like it!
8. The Duke’s LPA-1
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...eDukeLPA-1.jpg
Classic looks. You know how it would sound before you even plug it in.
Love the earthy tones in this one. Not sure though how the cream goes with the rest of the look of the guitar – some black pup surrounds / rhythm / treble switch may have finished this one a treat.
Really like the rosewood effect the chosen colour has delivered, beautiful looking guitar.
The Duke, I have to say your photos let you down this time. It looks like a pretty awesome guitar, but... we can't really see any detail. What we can see looks sensational and I would certainly like such a sweet looking LP in my collection.
9. Trevor.Rawlings ST-1 FrankenStrat
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...wlingsST-1.jpg
Amazing recreation of the original. A fitting tribute.
Amazing attention to detail to get it as like EVH’s strat. Nicely done with a nice effect. Downside – wouldn’t be the guitar I’d naturally go for in the store.
Loads of exacting detail and work that has gone into this build. *
I was blown away by the attention to detail on this build. Well done Trevor.
10. Wayne’s TL-1
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con.../WayneST-1.jpg
Timeless design and finish.
What can I say – another 4D tele. Finish is spot on.
Another very classy Tele from one half of 4D Guitars… keep 'em coming!
11. Wokka’s ST-1
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con.../WokkaST-1.jpg
Wouldn't be out of place on stage in the hands of a legendary guitar player.
As above (Wayne's TL-1) for a strat.
Wokka, it is so great to watch you progress with each build… you just need a pro endorsement and you will be on your way.
12. ZeroMick’s ES-1G
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...omickES-1G.jpg
Truly stunning. If I saw this in a shop I couldn't get my money out fast enough.
Hard to knock this one. Loses out in the end due to lack of a logo (had to pick something). Apart from that – nice choice of colours from the body to the complementing bling and scratchplate.
Well executed and beautifully captured in the photo.
Well built, even better photography! Flames look great and colour chosen really complements this body. Kudos for completing the wiring too!
This one wins the photography award. A beautiful guitar photographed expertly.
And the runner up is... a tie...
Congratulations Gavin Turner and ZerosMick, you tied for the runner up spot. The judges couldn't split your guitars.
And the Winner of October Guitar of the Month is...
Dave Haens, well done, you are our first International winner. That is one beautiful looking guitar.
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...2V-900x769.jpg
Well deserved win Dave...Gav!!! bridesmaid again! Seems this is a trend amongst the Gav's (I think I have had 4 seconds!) Really awesome guitars everyone.
Congrats mate!
And thanks for the feed back guys, very much appreciated.
Top quality entries from everyone, an awesome month, and congratulations Dave.
congratulations Dave, I would have probably picked yours out of the dozen as tough as that was. Your little personal touches set this axe slightly above the rest.
Also congrats to runners up Mick and Gav.
Would have been a tough one for the judges, well done to them.
I think everyones entries this month they should be proud of, all 12 would look great hanging in a music shop and gather heaps of interest.
Back to the drawing board to build a GOTM, its getting much tougher, time to think outside the square, bit like Maxaxe haha
awesome work Dave, well done, a very deserving winner.
Congrats to all the others, all tie for second I think, such great work
Congrats to Dave, Mick and everyone who entered this month. It was a mammoth month, and all the builds were top notch! Glad I didn't have to pick a winner.
Gav, I'm just stoked to have made the podium at all - I never expected it all with the field this month. I do have quite a bridesmaids streak going though!! I think you and I obviously need to dig deep and step it up a notch.Quote:
