@ Tim ---> thanks for the nice comments on the SGD and PBH bass
Thanks Gav that's going to help me heaps . As Wokka mentioned these kits have 3 3way switches. Also need an email address to msg.
Hi Tim, if you post your email address on this thread, I'll send an email to Gav so he can reply with the wiring diagram. When I've got your address I'll let you know and you can edit the post and remove your email address if you likeQuote:

timmetcalf@live.com.au cheers Wokka
ok got your email address Tim, just sent an email to Gav with you copied in. I didn't realise it was the Tim I'm sure I met at DB's man cave one Friday afternoon
good luck with your build, post some photos in the build diary
Small world eh Woks? :)
Sure is a small world DB. Got silver highlights on lastnight and a top gloss coat on tonight. No point taking photos with a Flash but will post some pics in daylight on the weekend. Silver highlights look great on the ama purple!
Come to this late, but I've got both of the schematics too. The 3-sw Epiphone and 2-sw Gibson, if you're stuck?
However I just looked at the switches supplied and they are all single pole, and all appear to be on/on/on (x-over). That's fine for the p-up selection but not for the neck selector, that should be on/off/on.
Needless to say this does not match the EP or Gib spec., but can be made to work. However it might require using ground-switching, which seriously raises the complexity of the cct - given the presence of so many easily contactable earthed objects on the un-selected neck.
However it can be made to work.
Wokka wiring on my twin neck is well on its way now .I have found there is alot of wires running through the pup cavities, something we spoke about today .so what I have done is to trench out along base of cavitys so I can recess the wires then I will shield over top . Have chucked in a photo (I hope)mmm maybe not anyway you get the idea....now this is were someone tells me one its already been done or two this cant be done because of something...LOL

Aha the photos did work
TIM!!!!!
No mate! :) You dont want to sheild over the top of the wiring unless you wrap the wires in shielding first!!! The wires act as an antennae and by placing them outside of the shielding arrangement negates shielding in the first place! :)
Hey Tim,
Would you mind sending me a copy of the wiring diagram you're working from? Even though mine will be a 2-switch it might help me decide which way to go with the final build.
rhay71@gmail.com
Also are your switches all on/on/on or is one an on/off/on?
Cheers.
Gav (as we'd all expect) is quite right, unless you use shielded cables, but it looks like there is a few single-insulated ones in the loom.Quote:

yep no problems Ray.
haha and I thought I was being smart Gavin.. Thanks for the heads up ,mind you the trench as made fitting the pup easier and smoother
Cheers Tim!

I'm keen to see it together; purple bod and natural necks, wild combo.
Mock build with tuners on headstock. 12 string neck weighs a ton!

wiring was hard work, I still got some small tweaks but happy how it's bolted together

2 more pics. Note to Ray, the neck backing plate holes didn't match, the holes pre-drilled in the body were way too narrow for the plate.
Otherwise it came together well, I thoroughly recommend aramanthine

Looking good. Bet there's not many other purple double neck SGs around. How long did it take to string up and stretch out all those bad boys?
Looks great Warren, a lot of hard work has gone into that beauty. Well done mate.
Hey Elliott, saw John and Jean-Luc and the boys in Brisbane, way back. I was into Jazz Fusion at the time. What a concert!Quote:

My strings are STILL stretching, so the SGD-612 should take a looooooonnnnggg time to stretch out completely!Quote:

Hey Callum, you know you can stretch out strings as part of your string changing process right? If done right your guitar should stay in tune from then on.
Yeah, but I forgot to do it this time :P
the strings on the LP arent stretching much, they are nearly stretched out completely, so I should be able to intonate it easier soon!

yes stringing it up took almost an hour, as it's my first 12 string axe and you can't fit the tuner winder on the middle 9 pegs (6 treble strings of the 12 string and 3 bass strings of the 6 string). Plus the 12 strings that come with the kit aren't labelled so I've put them on with some guess work with the gauges, but have a pack of D'darrio 12 strings so could see what gauge went where.
I'll run it in with the cheap strings and put decent ones on after that
Looks good Wokka
Looks great man.
Cool pic with the word "guitars" in the reflection of the pickgaurd. Was that intentional or just an accident.

yes the reflection of part of the 4D Guitars sign was intentional. A few builds ago I jagged the reflection in a photo and now line it up
