Three coats of poly. I was going to start with spraying the back, but realised it’s not spraying weather. Glad I went this way instead.

Very nice. Yes - not good spraying weather in Perth today.
Or Reading, UK. Far too hot. It is mainly eating ice cream and doing nothing weather.
So dozy has gone over to the dark side mwahaha!
This is really looking amazing!
It does look good.

Oh geez, I just know that these two guitars are going to look awesome when they're finished.
First couple of coats of home brew BLO mix.

BGS doesn’t seem to have the same BLO now, so it’s “Timber Oil Quicker Dry Concentrate”, which is “treated” linseed oil, with added drying agents.
Ooh that's coming up nicely
Yeah, I first did a 33/33/33 mix with poly and turps, but for the second coat I just did a 50/50 mix with turps, because it’s already blended with “stuff”. Too soon to tell if that’s a good idea.
Turps will just act as a solvent, so you should just get a thinned version of BLO which should have the same polymerising properties as the base BLO mixture as it dries and cures. You just won’t get the added hardness from the poly. Poly makes it more like TruOil than BLO.
Makes sense. Or more precisely, a thinned down version of Timber Oil Quicker Dry Concentrate.
A name that just rolls off the tongue.

Ready for building now, I guess.
Very nice. Great stuff.
How many coats of the poly mix did you end up using?
I only did about 3 coats of the “BLO” mix, because it seemed to not really be working that well, and was taking a couple of days to stop feeling tacky. So I just pivoted to a poly/turps mix. All up, about 35 coats.
Looking good dozy!
Nice work sir.
Those are looking great!
