Hi Maxence,
the diagram below illustrates the difference. What you had with the bigger set of bits is called a twist drill bit.
Attachment 23820
The spike helps centre the bit on your drill mark, with a twist bit, the end can wander as the drill begins to rotate before it "bites" into the wood. This can be a big problem when you are drilling by hand held drill.
The set you have shown is a good set, but you must be very careful to punch mark each hole before you begin to drill, and you must be very accurate with the hand held drill.
After searching for hours,
I can't find anything on amazon :/
The smallest tip is on the given link! : /
Is there really brad point bit of 1, 1.5, 2mm ? :/
I search on amazon, ebay, aliexpress, and all french big brands of "do-it-yourself" (I don't know if it's the word) stores and nobody sell this ! :/
For the really small sizes, 1 and 1.5mm you'll probably have to use the standard twist drills. From what i have seen the bradpoints start at 2mm, the most common size sets start at 3mm.
When you drill the smallest holes, just make sure you use a nail or a sharp punch to mark the spot to give the drill something to locate the tip and prevent it moving sideways on you.
Maybe these can work ?
- 1 & 1.5 mm
- 2 mm
- 3 mm
Ok thanks,
Only One drill bit for 1mm is good ?
First part is here !
