Thanks Simon. I actually put a bit of dowel in there as well. 9.5 mm fits like a glove.

Just ordered a pack of 8 epi style - with the flat bottom - 3 ply truss rod covers. Going to try engraving myself, Hence the pack of 8 :-) Hopefully I'll get one that I can use.
Slow burn this one, life getting in the way an all that. Colours not quite what I was expecting or going for but I'll keep going, still another bottle of top coat and antiquing coat to go (4 seperate dye bottles came in the Wudtone kit). The speaker cab in my other thread made some progress today as well. Had the house to myself.
May have to try something to calm down the cherry back and sides, I didn't use any black on those prior to starting the coulur like I did the front. I've done a few samples on some offcuts and a light coat of Feast and Watson mahogany may just do the trick.

Nice colour Rossco.
I am a lazy bugger and would have done that colour for sides and back too as it just looks so good.
Took a while but finally arrived. Not a big deal with the speed or lack thereof on the build but still good to get all the bits together. Really looking forward to hearing them.

Scraping the bindings, nerve wracking, but strangely satisfying.

Bindings cleaned, body wiped down, still got the ageing gloss top coat to go and neck ready to be fitted. Probably be ready to start fighting with the hardware install in about 2 weeks.

Yeah, can't say that cleaning up binding is my favourite part of a build, hence why I have only done 2 with binding.
Nice custom truss rod cover.
Lookin good RosscO, did you engrave the truss rod covers yourself, and do you have any tips how to do it?
Wayno.
