Update:
Managed to make a second payment on the new Fender USA Stratocaster today, so now I only have 5 more payments to make on it, to keep myself on track with the payments, I drew up a little table on a piece of white A4 printer paper so I could stick it on the door of my kitchen fridge, included in the table is a small square that I can put a tick when I make a payment, there's also columns showing the date of the next payment as well as how much there's left to pay off, see I'm being really organized about it, seems to work for me anyway.
Update:
Made the third payment on the new Fender USA Strat today, now there's only four more payments to go till it's all paid off, I'll have it in my home in another eight weeks.

Well I've finally got my new Fender USA Standard Stratocaster all paid-off and it is with me at my new flat, been playing it through my Marshall amp and it sounds really good, especially with my Marshall's clean channel and the Boss RE20 Space Echo placed in the amp's FX loop, I can easily nail that Hank Marvin clean tone, here's a few pics of the guitar that I took not long after I got it home from the shop I bought it from:

Can do mate, I'll see if I can set the guitar up on a stand just outside the front door of my new flat, hopefully there's enough sunlight to show-off the colour of the body, which is a deep Burgundy Red, but it's a metallic finish though, if you shine a white Led torch on it at the right angle, you can see the metallic lusture of the finish, anyway, I'll see if I can get that pic done.Quote:

Here's some interesting things about my new Fender USA Stratocaster, for a start, it was made at the Fender USA Factory in 2014, so it's only three years old, it has a 5-Way pickup selector switch installed that works as follows:
1, Neck Pickup + Tone 1.
2, Neck + Middle + Tone 1.
3, Middle + Tone 2.
4, Middle + Bridge + Tone 2.
5, Bridge + Tone 2.
Tone 2 also features a detent at the number 10 position on the knob, when this is engaged, the tone-circuit is completely bypassed so that you get the raw, un-filtered tone of the bridge pickup, pretty interesting.
Of course, the three pickups are Fenders Custom Shop Fat 50's single-coil pickups, they are apparently wound like typical 50's Strat pickups, but with a bit more bottom-end to them and less of the harsh midrange, they definitely do sound fat through the clean channel of my Marshall amp, particularly the neck pickup, real bluesy sounding, really good cleans too, at first I thought that the new Strat was going to sound harsh through my Marshall's overdrive channel, but I was pleasantly surprised at how fat it sounded, the guitar has lots of natural sustain too, even with the bridge set up to float, apparently that's because of the Copper-Infused sustain-block underneath the bridge, since I've been wanting to get into using the whammy bar to do Hank Marvin style shimmers, I'm going to leave it well alone.
