Looking good Swanny, loving that blue
Ahh ok! Pabs used the same stuff on his RC-4 if I remember rightly. Such a beautiful deep blue.
cheers,
Gav.
It is a nice colour blue - I first saw it on a web page by a bloke called Fred Yen (just had to google it). The sort of blue burst I was looking for was something I saw on an Ibanez...

I also have an old Hofner Congress I got for my birthday 38 years ago, which gives me ideas about bursting the sides and neck. Unfortunately I no longer have the original neck (ex-wife threw it out in a clean up) and only have memory to rely on there.
The idea is first to stain the neck to match the body, and go from there. I think my young bloke wants to go mountain biking this morning though... Priorities!
I should write up a list of jobs to do so I don't forget a step!
yep. that is a beauty
Welcome Swanny and great looking kit. Like the blue stain, coming along nicely

yeah, I really like the colour in that. nicely done.
I now have the makings of a burst going on. There are a couple of areas I'm not completely happy with, I can redo the rear with a bit of sanding, but I don't have the luxury with the front of the body. Oh well, it is a learning curve!

I think I need to tidy up the rear of the headstock as well before putting clear on, but I've got to draw a line and say "that'll do" before I stuff it up!
Lookng great! Yeah we all know that point when you just have to put the tools down. Many's the time I've gone that one step too far.
For what it's worth I think it looks awesome as it is.
cheers,
Gav.
Thanks Gav, I'll let it sit overnight and see how I like it then! ;)
wow, that looks brilliant swanny
ps. is that a Sierra lurking in the background?
