Used a little too aggressive buffing compound and not paying enough attention and straight through the finish and some stain.
Restained and then restarted the TO process again. Was hoping to be assembling today.
Ain't that a kick. Still - looking good. I'd forgotten about this build. Like the distressed look
Ouch.. Redo looks good. I did same once using some generic auto rubbing compound that was way too harsh. I ended up using Meguiars products with great results.
wow thats a lesson to watch what you are doing Tony. Looks like the fix will work nicely
this will look awesome once all the hardware goes on, sweet build
A small setback for what is an awesome looking build Tony. Can't wait to see this bad boy strung up!
cheers,
Gav.
So finally got back to the Blackjack. Bolted the neck on, wired up and strung it up. Is in tune but not intonated as the neck had a slight back bow and will leave for a day or two before adjusting again.
Seem to have misplaced a knob and have to go to Jaycar to see if can get some nuts for the pots ( gotta stop robbing parts off builds)
Dont think Ill ever do another skin as it is so painful to get a good edge and then get the TO coat up to it and not on it.
Bit of luck will be done by the weekend.
that looks awesome Tony, well done getting through the issues you had. Must have taken so much time to tape off the union jack flag.
This is a set neck isn't it (you said bolted on?)
Don't worry I am constantly robbing parts from other kits !
Have you used the stock parts on the SG or any upgrades ?
What is the build next to it with the flamed cap is that a Jrod Nebular ?
A very cool looking axe!
