First Build GR-1SF

I am for the black ones. We are at very similar stages on the same kit. The gold with that colour does look good! I have resisted the urge to mock assemble mine with the colour on so far. Did want to wait till body was completely finished. Might have to now that I have seen this one.

The black pup rings pick up the black inset in your tailpiece and tie the whole thing together. Definitely the black.

Thanks everyone. It's kinda funny that everyone is going for black. I also asked around among my friends and they almost unanimously went for gold. Haha..

I definitely agree with what some of you said, that the black pup rings take up the black in the tremolo. I like that a lot.

I guess I 'll have to refer to my two year old son. He already insisted on going with the red stain instead of orange as I originally intended.

I did the wiring yesterday and had absolutely no trouble with it - everything is working as it is supposed to do.

However, now I am thinking whether I should opt for a pup upgrade before installing.
Tonerider's are fine pickups, however, to my knowledge they don't really offer something like a humberbuckersized filtertron.

I really like both the look and the sound of the old gretsch pups, like TV Jones, however would love to have an option that is a bit cheaper than the originals. Suggestions are welcome :)
